Do you think that Ashera and Lest Karr have had a good relationship in the past?
With someone as pompously arrogant as this one? Well… maybe?
I mean, we legit don’t know what Lest Karr used to be, back in the old days when Ashera and his sister are together, but I foresee that (considering if Lest Karr didn’t had a major change of personality) he and Ashera could have a rivalry bond. No, not the typical rivalry bond. More like….
You know that Ashera is the most special vampire in existence, right?
His rank COULD be in Third Progenitor, if not even higher, and Lest Karr who has the same rank as Ashera’s sister could have look up to him in envy, like someone that he could not reach.
Imagine yourself having a friend… you and him are lookalike, having the same height, born in the same era, but your position in the social hierarchy is lower than him, and merely in level of HIS sister.
That being said, Lest Karr seems to act cool and composed, but he doesn’t looks heartless and lifeless like Urd Geales, so I bet that Lest Karr is someone that befit of rivalry bond. Maybe kinda like, you know… Napoleon Syndrome?
Especially considering the canon scene that, on his very first appearance, he already taunted another progenitor on the same rank as him, claiming that he’s stronger than her. That’s Lest Karr and Krul. If he can do that to her, then maybe he did that to Ashera too. The difference is, he cannot do anything to Ashera because he’s just waaaaay better.
I also see that Lest karr being kinda mean on Krul and Ferid. I mean, Ferid is an evil asshole so it’s no wonder if Lest interrogates him, but on Krul, it’s almost like…. he had a problem with Ashera, and he could never vent that to him because it would prove his incompetence, so he did it to Krul instead. As if, he want to show Urd Geales that he’s better than her.
Lest Karr seems to have a competitive issues. A BIG ONE if I need to say, considering the lore that he took down a whole witchcraft community in Europe all by himself, it’s like he had so much confidence, and he feel like he need to do this himself than relying on anyone else.
So yeah, I totally can see him considering Ashera as his rival.
