Does it rain in the city? And whats everyone’s first reaction when it rains/storms?

It doesn't rain often in the City, but it does happen sometimes at night! The vast population is unaware of this as it usually occurs during the night and the headphones block out the noise— as far as they're aware they live in a perfectly acclimated little bubble completely devoid of weather; how quaint!

Reality is that while the City is acclimated to always feel like warm May weather, there's nothing actively stopping weather from occurring other than the climate shift that was caused by the Helium War and the way in which the City itself is built to stop any sandstorm from entering or other wind-related phenomena to occur in general. Rain was deemed as harmless enough, and even a perk by some as it could possibly deter citizens from leaving their homes past curfew as BL/i does not sell any kind of rain gear.

People's reaction to experiencing rain and storms for the first time depends on person— some are downright terrified that a light shower (by desert standards) might flood the Zones, and most hate the thunder and make a point to either slip away into a windowless room or under a table/countertop at the slightest rumble, most cry for a lot of the storm, though it's not uncommon for kids to be absolutely mesmerized by lightning and learn to ignore the thunder.

The only universal reaction when it comes to experiencing weather for the first time, is the absolute wonder at snow, which while doesn't happen often and never settles enough for it to even form a thin layer over the ground, but is still everybody's favorite if you're willing to ignore the cold

Chimp and newsie: preferred form of transportation for each?

!!! newsie LOVES hir bike. zie got it while zie was still living with doc and its a big ole prewar model - not quite a chopper or a cruiser but def sturdier than a drac's bike. its fast and loud and like. minimally flashy. newsie likes it bc its a sentimental thing, one of the few things zie's been gifted but also bc bikes are wildly convenient for zones travel if you've got a home base and a small crew.

and for chimp okay. her van is her BABY she loves it so so so much and has spent SO much time and 'money' to get it the way it is now and she Would commit unspeakable violence against people that fuck with it. however, she would walk everywhere if it was an option. or hitchhike. shes done a LOT of hitchhiking with various crews when she was going somewhere decently far but didnt want to drive. its how you find the best stories she says
