I finally finished this little project. I did the face up last November yet she sat for to long because I tried to fix her box. Of course it only made the box worse and in the end I threw it away so I could complete the doll.
She is in the style of Kagamijishi (Lion Dance). Most geisha dolls fall into styles, many have kabuki’s their based on (like this one). In said play the Maiden becomes posed while dancing with a lion puppet to become the real Lion. You can actually see both the white lion and the maiden portrayed by Japanese dolls.
She is a cheap tourist doll but is still quite well done. I only redid her face and a few details to make her complete.
