I'm glad to be part of the #insanelyinspiredinstagram challenge! I'd like to get started by telling you how art has become part of my life. When I was a kid I loved my art lessons at school and used to watch my Mum, who is an artist, creating her pieces. At that time I didn't believe I had much talent though. It was only in 2003, after watching the progress of my mother-in-law, who went from nothing to producing very beautiful pieces in a few years, that I thought I could do it as well. I started having drawing and painting lessons and learned a variety of techniques up to the beginning of 2006, when my first son was born and I stopped painting to be fully dedicated to the family in my non-working hours. Five years later I had my second son and while he was still a baby a very difficult period in my life began. I had to face depression and anxiety, the illness and death of my beloved husband, the loss of my job, physical restrictions and being alone to raise my kids far from my family. I decided to take a sabbatical period to recover physically and mentally and started having online mixed media art lessons as a way to put myself together again. The experience of being dedicated to art was so intense and powerful that I started thinking that this could become my main way of living. My life continues changing rapidly. In the end of 2017 I came back to my hometown to find safety, love and support from my family. Being a person with multiple interests, I have been thinking about my possibilities here, but what I know is that art will continue playing a key role in my life. @passioncolorjoy #artistsofinstagram #artistbio #artcollectors #artgalleries #biography #geizapowell #geizapowellart
