That's it's back facing towards you. It shouldn't be able to move its head like that. But it defies all you think.

Dear Diary,

Spinel really loves the flying gem creatures. They fly around her and settle on her nose and fingers and make her giggle.

I wonder what keeps the gemless smaller ones alive since they don't have a gem to absorb light. I've already taken the Matriarchal gem and taken her to my lab to see if the smaller ones can last.

I don't understand how these smaller creatures work. They do not poof alongside their mother gem and they do not need to absorb sunlight... its really strange... I will keep track of my study progress in my notes.

Dear Diary,

I've made something today! My experiments show some chance of success!

It's a gem creature unlike any other I've seen before!

It is like on of those creatures found on a colony planet when the other Diamonds first arrive! It... doesn't seem awake like I am though...

It's wild. Free from the structure of the Diamond Authority even though it is as white as White Diamond herself. It even has a strange talent.

The large one seems to replicate herself into smaller copies. But these smaller ones do not have their own gem and simply disappear when poofed.

No more little one.

I don't know what to call these... creatures... but they fly so softly compared to our winged gems.

And they look like flittering shards of a broken gem... so disturbing... yet so beautiful... I will have to draw it...
