Born in Kyoto during the year 1827, Itsuki was abandoned by her father when she was still very small. Her mother had died giving birth to her, and in a moment of sheer insanity from seeing his mate die her father committed suicide by slicing open his own stomach. The baby was left in their little home out in the woods crying when Yayoi stumbled upon her. Yayoi cared for the baby once she had buried the poor couple who had passed.
Despite knowing they weren’t the same species Itsuki always loved Yayoi as her mother. When she became old enough to ask questions about Yayoi’s past she learned all there was she could about the woman that was kind enough to save her life. Upon hearing about the lost son of Yayoi the young siren promised that she would help her mother find the boy no matter what.
On her twenty-first birthday the two left the small house in which Itsuki was born to go in search of Yayoi’s son. During the decades of their searching Itsuki befriended a faerie named Hana who, after hearing the sad story, became their informant on all the supernatural species living on the islands of Japan. Hana eventually was able to locate Arashi during the second World War, but by the time they were able to find him bombs had already destroyed his Okiya and killed her mother.
Hana saved Itsuki’s life that day by dragging her down into shelter, and when the bombs passed Itsuki frantically went in search of Yayoi. She found the body just in time to see it turn to ash to reveal a small baby. Itsuki took the baby and raised it as her own just as Yayoi had done for her. As Yayoi became older and began to regain her memories from her past lives the roles switched back to what they had been.
Together Yayoi and Itsuki continued their search of Arashi, but decades later they were still unable to find him. Eventually fate had other plans for them. Ambushed by a group of slave traders, the two were split up and forced onto a boat where they were to be taken to their new home.

Itsuki is fiercely loyal to those she holds dear to her. She is a strong young woman with a tough spirit and a kind heart. Like Yayoi, Itsuki has a deep compassion for people in need and has been known to give kindness to even strangers. Itsuki has a very deep mother/daughter bond to Yayoi that she holds dear to her.
