kith design commission for a friend! it's a gemwing stage inspired by [checks my notes] Starbird Minion From FFXIV! (kith are from tattered world, an avatar- and pet site!)

I realized I've been neglecting the GemWings (my other fantribe so i did quick designs for the "founders" of the Gem Kingdom (i do not know why the number 5 has been very prevalent in my stuff)

Some ramblings under the cut

-i am seriously at my limit if krita crashes one more fucking time you're going to see me on the news for the wrong reasons

-so like. I'm probably not going to develop these guys too much (or at least not anytime soon) but long story short in the rough beginnings of the kingdom there was a ruling family who were corrupt and then dismembered by their underlings but then they all split into five faction things and they battled for a while but then Radiance managed to put peace and do some funni system of like co-rulers that manage smaller parts of the kingdom (districts) but still answer to the queen idfk. This system is kinda kept to this day and the rulers of each one are like council members similar to queen Coral’s council in the canon books

-yes Radiance was a hypnotic. Make of that what you will (that's how the phrase goes right?)

-anyways here i also kind of wanted to showcase some physical differences that can be found in GemWings:

Amber has these odd semi transparent membranes between her normal frills. No one knows why

Prism has this weirdly metallic look on both his angular frills and scales (i do not know if that came across as i intended in the dtawing)

beryl is kinda ugly but that’s ok 💔 he has blade spines and i do not like how his armor came out

shatter has more dull colors and both her and radiance have them weird frill spine things on their necks i don’t know what they are exactly

-each of those gem thingies are kind of the insignias of their faction group things (those symbols are also kept till today), and each of them was well known for a certain thing. Amber’s was for stealth and camouflage, Prism’s for strategy and intelligence, Beryl’s for armor and weapon crafting, Shatter’s for fighting prowess and Radiance’s was also strategy but different more like. peace and stuff (also medicine knowledge)

Wednesdays involve my second job, so I get home rather late so I’m pretty tired. :’D Have a Gemwing from Tattered-weave, on fire. 

Also doodled a colorful dragon. :D
