Kinda obsessed with Male being the after thought on this selection ngl
hi, is there a reason why the player cannot be non-binary/trans?
Yup - because of my bad coding skills when I started the game. Because I've come this far, I don't want to simply add an option for being trans or non-binary because it would mean that the MC would be the only trans/nb character that shows up. I prefer for it to be a part of the game world which would mean changing the genders of already present characters or introducing new characters which would take a lot of extra work. Rest assured any future game I make will include trans/nb character options, just not Crown of Exile.
I know nothing about this show, except what I see on @malicemanaged's dash, but this dash magic from @malicemanaged and @gaslightgallows seems like it's a not-unreasonable attitude for this character:
thank you for the opportunity of playing as nb persephone fhdsjfhds my tiny goblin heart is very grateful
You’re absolutely welcome, anon. We gotta have each others’ backs, right? xD
YES!
Hawaii has joined a wave of states across the country that are giving nonbinary individuals more gender options on state-issued IDs.
Gov. David Ige signed House Bill 1165 into law on Wednesday. It adds a new gender option beyond “male” and “female” on application forms for driver’s licenses and state IDs.
Ige signed the bill along with two other pieces of legislation that focus on LGBTQ rights.
Starting July 1, 2020, Hawaii residents will see a third gender option, “X,” on these forms. The legislation aims to reduce discrimination against nonbinary individuals who do not identify exclusively as male or female.
The new law also notes that individuals who opt for “X” will not have to provide any documentation to prove their gender.
Khara Jabola-Carolus, executive director of the Hawai’i State Commission on the Status of Women, said the new law falls in line with gender inclusivity that was inherent for Native Hawaiians.
“This wasn’t just about simple recognition of transgender folks by the mainstream,” Jabola-Carolus said in an Instagram post. “It was about [the] decolonization of the status of gender minorities and women, and taking a step to honor the inclusive society of Native Hawaiians.”

So The Royal Masquerade is a female MC!
For the new books Save the Date and TRM female only and DS and BOLAS gender choice, with BOLAS also allowing you to choose between elf, orc and human.
Also I wonder if that is the release order? It is pretty much as I predicted, except switching OH and TRM.
I also have to decide if I want elf or human for BOLAS... decisions, decisions.
My favourite thing about the mysterious and indistinct gender has to be the fact that even when people try to be tough around my character, they fail miserably.
No one’s a wholly pink butterfly or a blue car. We are all, to varying degrees, purple spaceship onesies
Rather, the store is encouraging girls to think of sweaters with spaceships on them as being suitable for them, and letting boys know that they won’t be arrested if they pick out a pink sweatshirt. This, the expansion of choice, is what gender neutrality should be about.
So it’s frustrating that too often the effect is the opposite.
Gender neutrality isn’t everyone wearing “masculine” or “unisex” drab plain clothes. It is embracing that everything is for everyone.
