Gender-expansiveness: An umbrella term sometimes used to describe people who expand notions of gender expression and identity beyond perceived or expected societal gender norms. Gender-expansive people feel that they exist between genders, as on a spectrum, or beyond the notion of the man/woman binary paradigm.

Support the Gender Expansion Project's 2015 Gender Expansion Trans* Health Conference and help us expand our reach further than ever before.

Your donation of $5 or $10 goes toward providing live webinars to providers, activists, allys and trans* folk alike throughout the rural northwest and beyond during our 2015 GEP Trans* Health Conference. Help us meet and exceed our fundraising goal before the conference. Every dollar donated past our fundraising goal will go directly into a scholarship fund, allowing individuals who could otherwise not attend an opportunity to learn about leading trans* care and how to improve the lives and wellbeing of trans* folk throughout the rural northwest.

Shawn Francis Shawn Francis lives in Bozeman, Montana, but he travels over an hour and a half to Helena to see the doctor. He also had to wait three months...

Thanks to funding by Pride Foundation, Social Justice Fund Northwest and many others, the Gender Expansion Project is actively working to train professionals and organizations across the rural northwest, including organizations like Bridgercare Health in Bozeman, MT.  Pride Foundation’s most recent grant to Gender Expansion Project is supporting the Gender Expansion Trans* Health Conference, which will take place in Missoula, Montana in October 2015. The event will be a one-of-a-kind opportunity to bring together a variety of different stakeholders—medical and mental healthcare providers, community organizers and activists, teachers, professors, professionals, individuals of gender diversity, their peers, and supportive families—for educational trainings, workshops, and networking. It is the only conference of its kind between Seattle and Philadelphia. Increasing culturally-competent, affordable healthcare for the transgender community will drastically improve the health and well-being of our community, while ensuring that everyone has access to the healthcare they need and deserve.
