Something something about noticing the comparisons between transmascs tryna find a word to describe their unique struggles and gay mlm/nblm tryna find a word to refer to themselves specifically since gay is more general

Something something about how there's multiple words now for these two scenarios and some have faced controversies because of semantics (either over flags, or linguistics and interpreting unrelated implications) causing difficulties in finding a term people actually agree on - thus making it harder to foster the very community these terms aim for

Something something about how people can have their own preferences for which specific terms/flags they fw the most, and also have their own opinions about why others aren't as good. But if your main focus is on the badgering people about these terms/flags for being "problematic" to you rather than the overall picture, you probably don't actually give a fuck about the people and just wanna start shit

Something something about how language is a fickle and complex thing and no one term is gonna be universally "the good pure best one 100% perfection" and we're all just trying to give voice to our experiences and that our experiences should matter more than the differences in terminology

Something something about how if it's not outwardly based on something explicitly fucked up and you really have to reach to make it "problematic", it's probably just not much of an argument to stand on and maybe we should just focus on the real matter at hand. Have your personal icks but don't let it motivate disdain for people just trying to discuss their actual experiences n struggles

Is this making sense? Is this something others notice or am I just finding patterns amongst the plain?

(I'm gonna tag the terms in question I know about in no particular order but if you know of others pls add, I'm curious just how many we've made)

Everytime I see someone on say "PCOS is an intersex variation" and someone gets deeply enraged and accusatory and claims you are 'denying people their womanhood' or 'diluting women's issues', they've always had the following characteristics:

- they don't understand intersex in the slightest and are evidently intersexist

- they are ignorant to the complexities and studies of PCOS, and tend to reduce it down to facial hair and ovary troubles

- oh and they are always always an extreme TERF, like it's never not the case

Yesterday marks the Day 1 of HRT (microdosing androgel) and yea sure its wonderful and cool and a neat achievement but because I fucked up my scheduling I'll now have to live with the fact I started transitioning on fucking April Fool's Day

I, personally, don't believe any queer identity needs to have some ancient history backing up its existence (or, in the case of most arguments, history specifically from the mid to late 1900s, because as we all know that era marks to entire concept of history - beginning and end of it)

The validity and existence of queerness - in what ever form it appears in - is not contingent on it being depicted in a decrepit, antiquated 1950s newspaper made by an underground activist group. History is a constant flow with no definitive start nor end, it's the past in its entirety. It doesn't matter what point in time a queer person affirms their identity, that identity immediately becomes a part of history. Just because your identity isn't some big shot mainstreamer, put on the signs of protests from 20 years ago or found within outdated political jargon, doesn't mean it's insignificant or worthless.

I pour one out for the identities realized 5 years ago, or 8 months ago, or 3 weeks ago, or 2 days ago, or in the last hour. I give a nod to the identities with thousands of mentions in media just as I give a nod to those who've only ever been mentioned once. I shake the hand of the queer person who uses the most personalized amalgamation of labels, creating a never-before-seen identity. Queer history is in constant motion, and there's no requirements for queer experiences to be historical in order to be, well, experienced.

I haven't been on HRT long enough for anything to occur it's been 3 days and yet I get so excited when my alarm goes off and have felt notably happier. T isnt even doing anything rn and already its doing sumn for my well-being.

Also because I changed my initial 10pm contraception alarm (which was at best a interruption and worst just sucky cause I didn't wanna be on an estrogen pill) to my HRT alarm and now it's an interruption I'm excited about

Write some poetic description about how my gender is like a flower or some nature-y thing. And society says nothing

Use a xenogender to accomplish literally the same thing but in a far more concise way. And society goes wild

I bring a sort of "seeing queer people with unique or eccentric identities as people rather than sickening threats devoid of any personhood" that certain online LGBT spaces don't like

New years resolutions

- Legally change my name

- Update my school ID because it's been in my deadname since first year even though my names been updated in the system and that means everytime I have to use it I have to explain "it's in my deadname" and it's really kinda awkward especially during exams and I've been putting it off because they require you to update your photo everytime you update your card which means I need to wait for a day I feel comfortable with photos and-

- Keep on HRTing

- Encourage more HRTing for others
