Side story: Where'd the nickname General come from?
Info:
-Headcannon formating
-everything is platonic because I am more experienced in writing platonic stuff, also the you are like 50, I'm not doing that💀
"Talking"-unknown words. For now
"Talking"- can understand(hylian basically)
"Talking"- you speaking/writing in your language you want to use
Third person POV:
-Unsurprisingly, it started with Wind asking the newcomer questions about their past. Only to be met with silence or vague answers
-However, on one particular night, with her guard (unusually) lowered, she gave an honest answer to this question.
"Sooo... the sword, where'd it come from?" To anyone nearby (I.e everyone), this teeters on invasive but all were curious. To the shock of everyone, she replied, albeit with her usual vagueness.
"It was a... gift from an old war buddy.... I wonder how his family's doing...?" The main part of that they focus on was 'war'. To which Wind, the only one brave enough, asked a follow-up question, "War...?"
"My late second-in-command."
-no-one said anything else. The brief moment of grief swallowed everyone into its maw as she gazed into the fire with glass covered eyes but never once did it break open and release its content.
-there were no more questions were asked since then
-with the lack of questions came the nickname by Wind, General
"Hey, hey hey, General-" "What did you call me?" "Uh.... G-general.?"
-to y/n, it was weird hearing that, it almost brought her too tears hearing that title after decades
-surprisingly, this is the only nickname she'd allow, especially given her tenacity to shut down any other nickname from them
-and so, her title was reborn as this silly nickname.
General!Lilia Vanrouge x Human General!Reader (Gender not mentioned)
Note: I wrote this shit like nearly a year ago probably and it's been sitting in my notes ever since so here's a slightly edited version hahaajajahjajakksbdhdjsksk
Description: Under the cover of darkness, only there can you embrace you lover. And there, you must end his life as well.
After all, as a General in the Human army, your loyalty to your race reigned above all else in your life. And to think you valued anything, even your lover, more, was nothing but a lie to yourself.
The leaves crunched softly under your feet as you walked towards your destination. It was late, having passed midnight hours ago.
You should've been asleep in your tent, catching up on some much needed rest during this small unspoken truce after the dust of war had settled for the night. The battle was unusually gruesome, both sides suffering heavy losses.
You suspected that if everything went as it should've, the next day would have no fighting, perhaps one or two small skirmishes at most but no full scale battle.
That is, as previously stated, if everything went as it should've.
But unfortunately, things would not go as they should've under normal circumstances.
Because the circumstances of your relationship with General Lilia Vanrouge were anything but normal.
Of course, the two of you just couldn't be what everyone else thought you to be. What you should be. You two couldn't y'know, absolutely despise eachother. View the other with nothing but pure malice and hatred for what each of you had done to the other. But of course, you just couldn't be normal about eachother.
Nonono, you guys just had to have a 𝘴𝘦𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘵 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘧𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘳 after things got sidetracked during what should've been a very tense and formal meeting to arrange a truce. Why? Because a year before said truce and a year before the war, you two just 𝘩𝘢𝘥 to happen to run into eachother while undercover and then somehow accidentally help eachother and then share both of your first kisses-
So you guys just 𝗮𝗯𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗼 be in a secret relationship for the past 3 months since that little meeting.
Seeing eachother only late at night under the cover of darkness, having to always be a hundred percent sure that absolutely 𝘯𝘰 𝘰𝘯𝘦 saw the two of you together.
Recently though, your meetings have been less and less frequent. From at least once a week to thrice a month if you were lucky. Confrontations in the battlefield were incredibly rare and both of you worked hard to ensure it stayed that way.
But, the decrease in your midnight randevouz's were to be expected. The war was getting desperate. Supplies, morale and manpower slowly beginning to dwindle on both sides meant everyone was desperate for a victory.
Including you.
And what you were planning to do tonight was precisely the reason why you were sure the unspoken truce would not last.
And so, as you stepped into the small clearing, your eyes locking with the man you'd grown love; a silence of mutual understanding enveloped the area. Not even the chirping of owls could be heard. Not a single animal, nor the trees dared to make a sound. Only the wind swept past, as if gently chiding you both to reconsider, or perhaps it was simply waiting in anticipation.
After what felt like an eternity, you stepped forward.
Lilia said nothing, only staring up at the moon as you sat down beside him, leaning against the tree he was under. The two of you sat in silence for a few more seconds before Lilia spoke up "The moon looks beautiful tonight, don't you agree?"
Gazing up at the full moon, you found it to be quite beautiful as he had said. "It is indeed."
Silence again.
Though, none of the silences were uncomfortable. But they were not comfortable either. Rather, they were... How do I put it? Ah, the calm before the storm. Both of you knew what was on the other's mind. You both knew what was coming, what had to be done. And yet, you both wished desperately in your heart for the opposite.
But unfortunately, the world was unkind. It was merciless. It had no obligation to listen to the whims of two people, so why would it?
Eventually, you stood up. Placing a hand on the hilt of your sword, you unsheathed it. "Lilia, I think it's time we ended this little game of ours" This stupid pathetic game of playing hide and seek with the rest of the world, trying desperately to somehow save a relationship which was doomed to fail from the very beginning.
Lilia stood up, unsheathing his sword as well. The two of you faced eachother, looking into eachothers eyes "Indeed. It was fun while it lasted, wasn't it?" He said with a hollow smile and you gripped the hilt of your sword tighter. "Yes, it was an honour to have known you. But I truly hope that neither of us have the displeasure of seeing each other in hell."
And with that, you drove your sword forward, aiming for the heart you'd long since trapped within your calloused fingers.
I'm going through with this idea as a series, so yeah.
Also, I'm busy with a second part of my Half-Ghost DMC idea so after this, that might be next. Maybe. Depends on me. Anyway.
Also, somehow the Half-Ghost became my most popular(on tumblr) work as far as I can see which is cool. And thank you all for the support on that!
Jk/that loz idea is catching up.
Important notes:
-First time writing something like this.
-will be doing my own thing
-Also this is a female reader.
-also, I don't feel like writing out y/n the entire time so your nickname is General. Why? Back story
-also yes, this is the first comic but I will be doing something different, I just needed a world I can go off of. Might just pull from there occasionally
-I swear you can see me go insane
-I edited this once so no beta, we die like wild, I'm back so its lore accurate now

THIRD PERSON POV:
Traveling through the forest with no solid idea of where the group was probably not a good idea. Especially with monsters roaming around said forest. However, the forest was still... peaceful in odd way. Ignoring the creeping hands of tension that followed the group as they made their way through the forest.
This forest brought back many memories for the group. Some because it scratched a memory or dragged another up. But the eldest of the group, Y/N (or General as the group refers to her as given how there's an air of authority around her similar to that of a general), remembered with mixed anger and fondness. This tension and setting brought back too many memories of her time in war. Nonetheless, she pushed everything back and marched on in front but with increased vigilance.
Time, the unofficial leader of this band of heroes, noticed her wariness and raised his guard further in response. If she was on guard, everyone was. However, he questioned what had her guarded. Was it another monster? Her paranoia as they've all come to learn quickly? Or was it something else? Pushing these questions out for now, he followed after her while keeping an eye out on the others in case they required help or did something stupid that needed to be stopped.
After traveling for a bit longer, Time thankfully has answers and potentially directions. "I grew up in these woods," he stated, as he reached up to touch the leaves of a nearby tree, which was followed by: "we' are not lost but something isn't right. The forest is too quiet." General could barely understand them though. But that's fine, they're still learning their language and them hers. Despite the language barrier, she knew one thing from his tone, danger was near.
As they're talking, General had her instincts kick in as bloodlust and the aforementioned danger showed its head to which it aimed all at Time. Both of them noticed this but the eldest of them reacted faster and pushed him out of the attack range and took the hit herself.
The attack landed on her right shoulder and threw her to the ground and across, which was surprising given how heavy her netherite armour was. The group sprung into action quickly soon after older woman took the hit with Time running over to check on her. As he knelt down beside her, the rest of the group was busy attempting to taking down the monster.
"Are you okay?" Questioned Time as he inspected General's wound and her overall, in case she was hurt anywhere else. "Peachy." General replied while trying to sit up, only for Time to push her down again as to not aggravate her injury. She pushed through and sat up this time while giving him a look that told him to not stop her.
He reluctantly allowed her to sit up while gently holding her in case her arm gave out on her and needed support. Once she could sit up somewhat, she looked towards the rest and took note of what they were doing. As she observed the fight, Chosen managed to slip away from it and approached the two with a fast pace.
She started to try and stand up with the help of Time and Chosen. However strong that monster was, was not going to stop her from beating the shit out of it. She will give credit to it though, she hadn't sustained an injury, or bruise, like that in a bit which unsettled her a bit. Was she getting softer? Was she loosing her touch?
As she started walking towards the monster, pushing these thoughts away, Time tried to stop her because of her injury although she just gently, surprising herself with the gentleness, pushed him away and then summoned her signature sword.
The sword was a hauntingly beautiful, intricate craft made from a fierce passion one can tell. Four certainly noticed the first time she brought it out. The blade was a beautiful mix of diamond and netherite, accompanied by a purple glow to it. But what haunted it so much was the pure malice and grief that followed the sword. It didn't help that if you looked closely, you could see blood stains not yet washed away.
As she walked, Time followed behind her in case she needed help although that was unlikely now. As she drew closer, she allowed her presence to be felt just as Wild got thrown off it as he tried to go in for an attack from behind. And it felt heavy. Like death was on its way.
That successfully drew the monsters attention away from the others and it staggered before running at her with full speed. Instead of dodging or getting out of the way, she continued walking towards it with an eeriy calmness, almost like she dealt with this so many times before.
The others tried to jump in, Time attempted to step in front of her with a shield while someone behind the monster shot at it with arrows. However, she pushed him away and kept walking.
As the monster got in close and readied itself to attack, she rushed forward in the blink of an eye and.... Nothing happened for a second after she came to a halt behind the monster. Soon enough, the monster crumbled as it's body split in half vertically.
Everyone froze for a second before relaxing. Both Hyrule and Warrior's made their way to her as Time went to check the monster, only glancing at the General once to make sure she wasn't further injured in that attack.
As he busied himself with inspecting the monster, Hyrule attempted to heal her injury only for her to stop him as Warrior's checked her for any injuries she might be hiding. General just sighs and states; "I'm... fine. Both of you." While they couldn't understand anything else she said, they knew she said 'fine', which she was not and this urged Hyrule to continue to try and heal her. She sighed loudly once again and gently grabbed his wrist like a mother about to scold their child, and gently pushed both him and Warrior away.
Once they were a bit ways back, she whips out a brewing stand and furnace and starts making regeneration potions to the surprise of everyone nearby. Upon noticing their stares, she just looked back at them with a questioning look, wondering why they shocked. Couldn't they do this too?
She tosses that thought away and into the ever growing pile of questions she has and just shrugs before she starts adding the rest of the ingredients to the potion and once that was boiling, she turned to the furnace, summoned raw chicken to everyone's shock again, and shoved it in the furnace to cook since she needed food to restore her health. The potion was for anyone else injured in the fight.
As time passes, they get ready to move out just as General finishes the potions and chicken. While walking, she navigates around the group, offering portions of chicken along with the healing potion in case they needed it, namely Warriors.
While walking, the group began discussing the monster, with added queries about the General's abilities but mostly the monster, in hylian, she kept guard given how she couldn't understand them all too well. However, she did pick up a few details. One, that monster is not supposed to that strong, two, it had black blood and 3, they were heading to a safe, location given how this was his world.
