You don’t remember when exactly everything went wrong… There was a crash, and a horrible jolting sensation, and then you were soaring—
It seemed as though time had stopped briefly, and it had— Though, you didn’t know.
It started with small things. You knew you were dead, yet you felt an odd sense of deja vu. It only really clicked when you saw the date— December 5th—
…You were still alive here…
Maybe it was selfish, but you wished to save yourself—
Unfortunately, you had no clue where you were—
Regardless, you had to start somewhere.
You made your way down the seemingly endless hallway, it’s not like anyone could see you, anyhow—
A silver haired boy was the first to speak to you—
“Maan, never seen a ghost before. Heard of em’, but the reapers usually take care of em’ before they get here.” He says, circling you curiously.
”Bet they’d pay me plenty of Grimm, if I told em where you were!!! They’re very serious about their job, yeah?” He remarks and while you have no clue what ‘grimm’ is— You get the gist of what he’s saying and scowl.
“Rude. I’m already dead, and now you want me…even more dead? What is wrong with you?!” You hiss, crossing your arms—
He shakes his head. “No, no, no! They won’t kill ya! You’ll just— Go to the afterlife or some shit! Stayin around here will corrupt a spirit like you. In a way I’m doin’ ya a favor!!!” He says shaking his head, and you sigh.
”Tough. I’m still alive here. I need to find myself and stop me from going out that day.” You say, floating off, earning a startled look from the boy—
“Haah?! Eh!! Wait! Wait! Did ya say you were from a different timeline?! Hold it!! You’re messin’ with bad things!!! Don’t go doin’ that!!! Shit!!!!” The boy cried out as you faded into another room—
This time you found yourself face to face with a purple haired boy— He shrieked when you popped through the wall, then scowled.
”You’re not supposed to be in here. This is my room. Not some getaway or something for…ghosts…Why are you here anyways? Ghosts don’t usually make it this far….” The boy said, staring at you—
“Some silver haired dude wanted to sell me for grime…grimy…aaaah….umm…” You say trying to recall the odd name—
“Grimm? Sounds like you met Mammon. He’s the worst…He’ll do anything for Grimm…Like sell other demon’s special edition Ruri Chan Merch, for one.” He says, scowling.
You raise an eyebrow, and he shakes his head.
”Well, you can stay here for a bit, but only till Mammon leaves. He’s annoying. No one should have to deal with that.“ He says, sighing.
”Levi.” The boy offers, shrugging.
You nod. When the yelling ceases, you leave the room.
”Oh~! You’re the ghost everyone is talking about~! You‘ve caused quite the stir, you know?“ A voice speaks from behind you.
You spin around, quickly—
A very pretty person stood facing you…
Or was he a demon, like that boy, Levi? —
“Awe~! Thank you. I am very pretty, aren’t ? Yes, I am a demon. Everyone here is, in fact~! Though, we’re start an exchange program soon.” The demon said, and you blanched—
“Hmm, well I can’t if you don’t make eye contact with me. Anyways~ Lucifer asked for you. Nothing gets past him. We’re supposed to help you out till Thirteen gets here, though seeing you still alive right now…This will be interesting.”
The man said smirking and if you still had a heart, you swear it would be skipping.
You open you mouth to deny, but a tingling sensation fills you, and your mind fogs up—
When you regain your senses you‘re standing in front of another demon. He was well dressed, with dark hair, and crimson pupils—
‘This must be Lucifer…I really am in hell, then….’
You thought, wondering what exactly it was that put you here— You’d never been a particularly nice person, but you weren’t horrible either—-
The demon fixes you with a piercing look.
“You’re here solely because you continue to exist in this world. Sometimes when one passes, though incredibly rare, their regrets are strong enough that they jump to a time when they were alive. It’s highly uncommon for one to have such strong regrets when they die, so my question is…What is so worth living for, so much that you’d risk destroying your soul….”
’Destroying my soul…? Would I really do something like that…?’
You shake your head, confused—
“I really don’t remember. I just wanted to live. I remember making a promise. I promised someone I’d come home, but the details are vaguely hazy…” You explain, sighing.
“I see. It’s not uncommon for spirits to forget thing, especially new one. Your memories are connected to your body, after all. I’m surprised you’ve not been corrupted, as well, being in our presence, but that may have to do with your existence here. Regardless, the issue at hand is that you’re where you’re not supposed to be. You can’t continue to exist here, and we can’t allow you to prevent your death. You are destined to die in 20 days, judging on your memory, so you can stay here until then…”
You try to protest, but find yourself unable to in this man’s overwhelming presence—-
You ran into the silver haired boy, demon, again—
Mammon, if you remembered correctly—
’Oh great. Now he’s mad he couldn’t sell me…’
You think, and glare right back, before he bursts out laughing—
“I like ya! You’re kinda spunky, huh?” He says, laughing.
You sigh, and briefly wish you lost your ears as a ghost, too—
“Well, I don’t like you, and you’re loud.”
You say, and he laughs even more.
”Things are gonna be real fun with you here, too bad it’s only for twenty days!” He says, reminding you of your inevitable fate.
”Will it hurt? Passing on…?” You ask, and his smile fades a bit.
”I dunno…I don’t think so? I’ll never be able to pass on myself, yeah? I’m stuck here, till, well— Forever, I guess….“ He says sounding less cheerful, and suddenly you find your situation less upsetting.
”I’m sorry.” You say, frowning.
”What for? You didn’t put me here. Anyways, what’s your name, or should I just call ya Spitfire?” He says, grinning.
”It’s [Name]. You’re Mammon, correct? The purple haired one, ahh, Levi, said that—“ You say, shrugging.
He groans dramatically. “Ugh! Damn that geek!!! He even stole my opportunity to introduce myself!! Did he say anythin else about me?!!” Mammon asked, loudly.
”Hmm, oh— You’d do anything for Grimm, including selling other demon’s things, yes? I mean I kind of figured that, though. You tried to sell me, so—“ You explain, smirking.
”Why that—! And you!! You really believed all that bull?!” He says fixing you with a glower.
”I mean, it was pretty convincing.” You say, teasingly.
He growls— “When I get my hands on that pint sized bastard—! He’s gonna regret telling you that!!” He said, running off—
‘Sorry, Levi…I accidentally caused you trouble it seems…After you helped me earlier, too…’ You think, before you have an idea—
“I’ll just phase into his room, and warn him!” You say, merging with the wall—
Unfortunately, you find yourself in the wrong room—
….Purple eyes meet yours and you black out….
“You’re awake. Looks like I meddled a bit too much with your course. Sorry, pulling you here was the only way we’d be able to meet.” A tired drawl greets you, and you feel fairly tired yourself— Almost as if you were struggling to hold yourself together—
“Who—What?” You ask, eyes wide.
”You can call me Belphie. Now, I need you to do me a favor. In exchange, I’ll help you warn your current self.” He says, and when you’re about to acknowledge his proposition, a voice cuts through—
“Unfortunately, that will not be happening. [Name]. You may go.”
You feel yourself being pulled, and catch a vague glimpse of Lucifer, and the demon behind bars, before finding yourself in Levi’s room—
“What are you doing here again? Come to make fun of me? Or were you going to tell Mammon, heh? I shouldn’t have helped you, of course you’d use it agains me—“ The purple haired demon said and you lowered yourself to the floor.
“I’m sorry!!! I didn’t mean to cause trouble for you!!! I didn’t know he’d take my teasing so seriously. I’m sorry, thank you for helping me! I won’t bother you again.” You say, before fixing ti leave.
”Wait. Do you like…anime?” He asks, stopping you suddenly.
“Tell me about anime in the human world.” He says, and you agree.
”So you’re saying he became a detective after dying to save some kid? Wow. Lame. But wait, what about that other one? The one with the guy who changes when he gets splashed? How’s that work?” He asks, and you grin.
”Well, a lot of funny situations happen. For one, he turns into a girl and his worst enemy has a crush on him when he’s a girl, and to make it worst his enemy’s crazy sister likes his guy half!!!!“ You explain, smiling—
”Human anime is very different, not what I’d expect— What about that one with the girl and the weird computer?” He asks, and you proceed to tell him all about the Wired.
After your in depth discussion about human world anime, you leave his room, promising you’ll watch one of his favorites with him later—
Once again you find yourself face to face with Mammon, but this time someone else is with him—
The figure alongside him has orange hair, and purple eyes…
Kind of like that other demon, Belphie…?
….The one who had offered to help you…
You walk past them when Mammon stops you with a shout.
“Yo! [Name]! You haven’t met Beel yet, have ya? You should come with us! I’m going to make some big Grimm today, see, Beel here can eat a lot! There’s an eating competition soon, with a big prize! Catch my drift?? If you come with, I’ll get you something cool, too! Something you can use…As long as you keep me amused with your funny comments, yeah? Like insult the other competition and stuff?” He said, grabbing your arm, you felt a chill as he passed through it—
“Guh! What was that for?! Anyway, you in? I need ya to be as mean as ya possibly can, okay??” He says, and you sigh—
”Why would I need to be mean, anyways, if your friend can eat a lot?” you point out—
“I think I can explain this one, Mammon…It’s normal for each contestant to have a commentator in big competitions like this…It’s a way to show off, I think? Like having your own cheerleader.” The orange haired one explained, and you nod—
“We don’t have that in the human world, at least not for each of us, but why should I be mean?” You ask, tilting your head.
”Ugh! Don’t ask a bunch of useless questions!!! Just be mean, okay?! Pretend like ya hate em all or somethin!” Mammon yells, sighing.
You look at Beel. “Are you okay with this? He’s using you for money, isn’t he?“ you ask, and he shrugs in response.
”I like food.” He says, and you sigh—
“Fine, I’ll help, but only so he can eat. I don’t need anything either. I’ll be gone in seventeen days, anyways.” You say, sighing.
“Good! They won’t know what hit em!!”
That evening the three of you returned, Beel slightly less hungry, Mammon with a full wallet, and you thinking maybe you’d found some friends—
The morning was unpleasant, as someone walked through you— They had been rushing somewhere and ran through your center— They stopped, briefly and looked at you—
Wow, he was pretty. His hair was black, and teal tipped, and his eyes were long lashed and—-
“-y? Are you okay?” His voice broke you out of your musings and you nod, glad for once for your inability to breath. You’d have been blushing so hard had you still been alive—
“I’m…fine…just startled.” You say, sighing.
He nods. “It’s my own fault for running through you…I heard about you briefly from Lord Diavolo, but didn’t expect to meet you quite yet. Not at all under these circumstance. I’m in a hurry right now, but I will find some way to make it up to you later.” He said and slipped off—
For some reason it felt as if he already knew you, but how could he…?
You floated through the hall, when a loud crash caught your attention—
A figure you recognized as Lucifer, walked by briskly, and you tried to catch his attention—
You sighed after failing, and thou maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to pass on— You didn’t have anything here, and the only thing you remembered was a promise—
You didn’t know why you felt the need to keep it—

You feel your being waver briefly, before you hear a shout—
You find yourself facing a blonde man, his hands steadied you—
“Good. You’re fine. I don’t need Lucifer to have any other ammunition against me.” He said and walked off—-
…It wasn’t till later you realized he didn’t pass through you…
After the incident, you searched for the blonde man, but to no avail. You ended up running into the pretty one again—
He smiled at you and you avoided his eyes—
“Oh? Ignoring me, now~? That’s not very nice.” He said teasingly.
”Neither is making people forget things.” You say, scowling.
”Oh~! You mean the compulsion? Sorry, but you wouldn’t have agreed otherwise, and it was really quite the predicament~ I don’t need Lucifer on my case, like Mammon, and unlike Satan, I can’t get away with making him mad.” The demon says, sighing.
You steal a glance. “Satan?”
”Blonde, tall, fairly attractive, moody?” The demon lists off, and your eyes widen in realization.
”Where would I find Satan, by chance?” You ask, trying not to sound too curious.
”Oh? Interested, are you? Why hang out with him when you can always hangout with me~?” He says, teasingly.
“Well, I don’t know you, do I? At least I know his name, and he owes me an explanation.” You say, your eyes flashing.
The man tilts his head to the side.
“Curious~! You can call me Asmo~! I’ll take you to him, if you tell me what he owes you an explanation for~?”
You nod, because that’s fair.
”He touched me. I’m a ghost. I don’t have a physical form, but somehow, he touched me.” You explain, and his eyes narrow.
”This is getting fun, hm? Very well, tomorrow night. Meet me here, and we’ll intercept him. Tomorrow is likely our only chance, as it‘s his turn shopping for the month.” Asmo says, and you nod—
You end up visiting Levi in the morning, and watch a few episodes of one of his favorite series, before you head to meet Asmo.
“It’s okay to be afraid.” Levi’s voice breaks you from your thought.
”Huh?” You ask, wonder of you misheard him.
”It’s okay to be afraid. I mean, you were a normie before, and now you’re stuck here knowing you have only a certain amount of time left. Don’t tell anyone, but I think I would be scared too.” Levi says looking away, and wait—
”Thank you, Levi, and I’m not sure whether I’m afraid or not anymore…I was before but…I feel like for some reason it may be better to let things be…” You say, sighing.
He looks up at that, shock written across his features. “What?! You’re just going to let yourself die?! I thought you were trying to stop that…“ He exclaims, loudly.
”I don’t know…It’s just a feeling I have.” You say, sighing.
”Anyways, I have to go. I have something to take care of. See you tomorrow, okay?” You say, waving before drifting to the spot you and Asmo agreed on.
”Good. You’re here. Now~! We wait.” He says amd you two wait for a few minute. Sure enough, Satan passed by. You drift up to him, and stick your hand out— It phases through him.
“Huh..?” You exclaim genuinely confused.
The blonde stops, and sighs.
”I can’t touch you now because you’re not corrupted. Last time, you were beginning to turn into a wraith. I couldn’t let that happen as it would affect your current self’s well being, too. If that’s all. I’m leaving.” The blonde said, walking off—
You glance at Asmo, who throws you a shrug and small smile—
You sigh. This only left you with more questions—
You finish watching Levi’s favorite series and run into Beel on your way out—
“Beel, right?“ you say, and he nods.
”[Name].” He says, gesturing to you, and you nod.
”That’s me. Where are you off to?” You ask, curious.
”The kitchen.“ He says, shrugging.
”Mind if I tag along? Don’t worry, I don’t need to eat, either.” You say smiling.
“Okay. You can come with. Do you know any human world recipes?” He asks, as you head to the kitchen.
”Sure, but weren’t you going to eat?” You ask and he nods.
”I can cook. I want to try human world food.”
“Okay! Hmm…Let’s try something classic! How about Pizza?” You say, and he nods.
”Pizza is good.” Is his response.
You end up teaching him how to make a simple pepperoni pizza, and several hours later, Beel has made and eaten thirteen pizzas, and the kitchen is entirely out of cheese and flour.
”I wont say anything if you don’t.” You say looking at the empty bags of flour.
Lucifer finds you that morning, another figure at his side—
“This is Lord Diavolo. He was interested in meeting you.”
You recognize the name from the demon, earlier, the pretty one who ran through you—
You smile at him.
”Nice to meet you, Lord Diavolo.” You say.
He shakes his head flustered. “No need to be overly formal like Lucy, over here.” He says, grinning.
”I thought I clearly expressed my dislike for that nickname.” Lucifer said, sighing.
”Anyhow, It’s come to my attention you’ve grown close to a few of the students here. All I ask is that you don’t give them any ideas…” Lucifer said, his arms crossed.
”What ideas could I possibly give?” You ask, genuinely surprised.
”I think he’s talking about the lack if ingredients in the kitchen.” Diavolo said, chuckling.
”But…we agreed not to say anything. Beside, that! You had me genuinely worried something was wrong!!” You say, exasperatedly.
”I don’t want you causing any unnecessary expenses during your stay. That’s all. you may leave.” Lucifer said, shooing you off.
Diavolo and Lucifer share a glance.
“I see…I don’t see anything wrong with them at the moment, but from what Barbatos has mentioned, and Satan’s report…” Diavolo mutters.
”I’ll keep a closer eye on them.” Lucifer says, sighing.
You spent the day with Asmo. You had intended to thank him for his help, and his response was to take you to a place called Majolish and have you help him rate outfits.
”What do you think of this one?” He ask, holding up a maroon vest.
”Isn’t it a little, I don’t know, flamboyant?” You ask, curiously.
”You’ve said that about everything so far, if you don’t want to help just say! So much negativity is bad for your complexion.” He says, sighing dramatically.
”I don’t have to worry about my complexion. I’m dead. Though, it would be kinda funny if my current self suddenly woke up with a bunch of acne because of my negativity.” You say, chuckling.
Asmo smirks, “Bit of an S, hm?”
”How harsh! An S, indeed!”
On your way through the hall, you caught Satan reading a book, one you happened to recognize.
“Oh. That’s a sad one.” You say, looking at thw book’s cover— He snaps it shut, and you think for a second he may be annoyed when he asks, “How so?”
You pause before responding, “Well, have you read it before?” You ask, arms crossed.
”Yes, it happens to be one of my favorite pieces among human literature.” He says, frowning.
”Then you should know they both die in the end.” You say, sighing.
”It is one of his greatest tragedies, however their death unifies the families.” He points out.
”But do the ends justify the means? The tragedy itself is that it took their deaths to solve such a dispute that could have been resolved given they communicate.” You say sighing.
He raises a brow. “Yet, their feelings of resentment would have caused that communication to fail, don’t you think?“
”Then why were they suddenly okay after they both died? It would have made more sense for tue conflict to continue don’t you think? Blaming their deaths on each other?“ You say, sighing.
”Perhaps it was because it was a loss both shared?” He said, a slight tilt to his lips.
”They shared plenty in common before.” You point out.
He smiles, then and stands up—
“Grief acts in strange ways. I enjoyed this conversation. In the event I see you before your time is up, let’s continue this discussion then.” He said, before heading in the opposite direction.
You stare after him a bit, curious—
You run into Mammon, he’s rushing through the hallway screaming when he runs through you, giving you a horrible sense of deja vu.
“Why does this keep happening?” You sigh and Mammon throws you a look.
“What do ya mean? I only ever ran into ya, once!!” He exclaims.
”No, no, someone else ran the me the other day, that’s what I’m talking about.” You say, sighing.
”Well, it wasn’t me! So stop whining!!” Mammon says grinning.
You sigh.
“I get that, Mammon, but it was you, this time—“ you say with a sig, when all of a sudden that odd wavering begins again—

“Eh? OY! [NAME]!!! WAIT UP!!!” Mammon hollered, following you—
You rounded the corner, opening a door, and entering the room—
You heard Mammon’s footsteps behind you—
“Eh? What are you doing here, [Name]? This is where the exchange student is gonna stay.” Mammon says, and you frown—
You spend most of your day by yourself— Only a week till you disappear forever, and you can’t help but feel anxious—
You were supposed to warn yourself of something, but you can’t remember what—
You finally see the pretty one again, he crossed paths with you in the hallway—
“Come with me, I said I’d make it up to you, yes?” He says, smiling—
You nod, numbly and follow him into an empty room—
“Six days from now…We are getting an exchange student from the human world…That student, is you.“ He says, and your eyes widen—
“But I—! Six days from now, I—“ you gasp.
”You die. Yes. I’ve kept up my end, so do what you will with that information. It’s good to see you again, [Name.] You’re smart, you’ll figure it out. You have to.” He said beginning to leave.
”Wait!!! What’s your name?” You cry out, ignoring the wave of nostalgia the quest bring—
“It’s…Nothing important.” He says, and leaves—
You had been a student here before— Was that whst drew you to that empty room— But you’d only been a student for a day…Barely time to move in…
”I won’t loose this time…“ you mumble, and wonder why you feel so faint…
Do I even exist at this point?
Why does it always end up like this?
Why can’t I ever make it past Day 1???
Will Barbatos keep his promise?
I think I want to restart…
You sigh and head to meet Levi, you were going to play a game together, or more like, you were going to watch him play— As you sat there, you felt as though you were missing something.
”I’m gonna go, okay?” You say, smiling—
”Just, promise you’ll come back?” he says and you open your mouth to reply when—-
“Promise you’ll come back [Name!!] You can’t leave me this time!!! It wasn’t me this time, I promise!!“ Levi said, crying— You glanced at him and smiled. “Okay. I promise.” You didn’t want to go home anyways, you were happy here— “Let’s play another round?“
How did I end up back at the start??? Why can I never make it past day one?

”I’d like to introduce our new exchange student [Name]. They’ll be with us for the year.”
Seven figures stood in front of you—
Your being wavered, and you knew, this time—
You wouldn’t be thrown back to day one—
