While not originally intended to be queer, many modern stories have acknowledged that an island full of women is an island full of sapphic love. Wonder Woman herself and many other Amazons have been confirmed as explicitly queer. In general, it is implied that the majority of Amazons are sapphic, bisexual, or aro/ace. The island of Themyscira is a safe haven for all women, and is often portrayed as very open about sexuality and accepting of trans women

Many other Amazons are shown as queer; but these are some of the most popular characters. The Amazons are a symbol of feminism in comics, and it’s lovely to see queerness as part of them.
