Many thanks to those brave souls who played Cryptic Explorers with us at Genghis Con 41. You will be forever immortalized in the Cryptic Explorers Rulebook for your deeds.
We played some extremely close games over the course of Saturday, with a dead even split between Cryptonaut and Goddess wins, and some very memorable and clever plays from our public testers.
All who sat and played were thoroughly entertained and provided very positive feedback... Here are some choicier declarations:
"This game has solid bones, really into it." *
"I usually don't like games that run over an hour, but this was definitely worth it."
"The art for this game is amazing!"
"I can see there are a ton of different options and ways this could play out..."
"This game is like if H.P. Lovecraft made Fallout: Tactics."
* Unsure if referencing game mechanics or literal bones.
PLEASE NOTE: The prototype in the photo is very basic, and not at all a representation of the final Cryptic Explorers aesthetic, components, etc. It truly looks bad right now (despite people's very positive comments on it), and is just for testing purposes.
We are currently finishing a large phase of testing and balancing in order to create a new prototype that is very close to what a production copy will look like, complete with a set of miniatures.
