The Queen's gambit

Sto adorando ogni singolo dettaglio di questo capolavoro. Costumi, musica, cura dei dettagli, fotografia, colori e scenografia, storia. È affascinante. Per quanto io non sappia nulla di scacchi, tutto questo mondo così contorto e complicato accende e stuzzica la mia curiosità.

Tratta dal romanzo di Walter Tevis "la regina degli scacchi" del 1983.

This clip shows a characters face smiling, the first thing you can pick up on is the ‘squash and stretch’, as the character tenses up its face it becomes wider and shorter and as soon as it smiles it gets more narrow and longer. The ‘squash and stretch’ helps show ‘anticipation’ when the character tenses up its face, it also shuts its eyes and closes its mouth. The viewer is left in anticipation for a few seconds as they wait to see the facial expression of the character, in this clip the character appears to be happy hence the smile and the wide eyes. This is additionally helped by the stars in his eyes which shows ‘exaggeration’, further enhancing the happy mood.
