Fall, Year 8: Vampire Apartments, pt. 2

I had to start this household a couple of times due to crashing or other issues.  For some reason Count Ray kept skulking out to the mailbox with no action that I could cancel.

Then he would hang around there for no reason, until I sent him back in and he would go back out.

Meanwhile Chastity kept jumping out of interactions.  I remembered having problems like that when I placed a bed from an inventory, so once I replaced their bed, they were back to normal again.

I had this idea that Chastity was Count Ray’s captive, but since she’s a vampire now too and their engagement is back on, it seems like more of a normal, equal relationship.

She’s starting to develop her social life again when Prince Calvin invites her on an outing.

Count Ray was tired so he stayed home, so Chastity gets to enjoy a night on the town with friends.

Oops, I had forgotten that Calvin and Chastity had been an item in the past, but they did not.  Once Miranda, his pregnant wife and her twin sister, heads home early, Calvin puts the moves on Chastity and she does not resist.

There’s just enough time to freestyle for tips before dawn approaches and Chastity has to head home.

At home, Count Ray keeps Chastity entertained with his skillful musical talents.

I have a lot of graveyards in the kingdom, but I’m not sure where to put Vlad and Contessa Lilly’s remains.  For now, Count Ray has been carrying them around from house to house.

I’m not surprised when Vlad’s ghost shows up to scare Chastity.  They were a couple before he died and she moved on with his father, so I think she had this coming.

Fall, Year 8: Vampire Apartments, pt. 1

Brett’s girls catch up on their homework before school.

After they’re off to school, he invites Sheridan over for a date.

“Right this way.”

They play a little pool in the common area

and share a dance.  (I just like taking pictures of this lot.)

Blaire grows up into an artistically minded teenager.

I think I did download a mod that let vampires be out of their apartments later at night because the common areas seem more active now.

Blaire needs to watch out for Count Ray though.  He isn’t trustworthy.

Brissa meets a cat and I add it to the family.

Captain Hero needs some night hours.  Get inside!

Brett invites Mercy over for a visit.  He would have invited her over earlier, but he had to wait for sundown.  She will be moving in at least temporarily next season as a new graduate, but I’m not sure where she will end up permanently yet.

When I switch over to the neighbors, Blaire’s bad attitude comes through.  Her aspiration is good and she has a lot of nice points, so I’m not sure what her problem is.

Samson has to kick her out of the apartment and lock the door behind her.

Victoria:  But I can’t do my homework.  It’s stuck under the fire.

Look at that face of innocence as if she wasn’t the one to put it there.

Roderick has his child birthday.

Despite being on birth control, Yasmin is pregnant again.  Maybe I need both partners to be on it to make a difference.

Fall, Year 8: Gentry, pt. 3

All of Sadie and Silas’ kids are so cute. I like that they’re all close in age.

Actually Silas and Sadie themselves are pretty cute too.

Silas finally found a job opening that interested him.  He heads out for his first day when the kids leave for school and Sadie is left at home spending a quiet day with the baby.

It was peaceful when the kids were at school, but she seems excited to welcome them all home again once school is out.

Sadie and Silas’ work schedules overlap by one hour, so she asks Meredith to watch the kids.

She doesn’t even make it into the apartment before Silas comes home.

(I had to play this lot twice since my game crashed.  Pretty much everything happened the same way both times, but the second time I just decided to have Sadie go to work late.)

Sawyer is happy to see his dad after work.

This family was really struggling financially.  Luckily with both adults working and Sadie’s promotion they just make their rent.

It looks like their childcare problems are over.  Now that Salina is a teenager, she can keep an eye on her younger siblings when their schedules overlap.

Baby Sidney also has a birthday and is a toddler now.

I think the main difference between the two times I played is which twin got the most help with their homework.  Sawyer is showing off his good grades, but Sadie, busy with dinner and the toddler, seems a little overwhelmed.

Fall, Year 8: Gentry, pt. 2

It’s time for Elizabeth and Rodney to meet the newest member of their family.

It’s a baby girl!  Her name is Riley.

They are such a happy little family.

Gage risks his life for a slice of pizza. Now that it’s dark he can finally help himself to a slice

and safely play catch with his brother.

Simon and Glenn move into the apartment next door.  They plant a tree to commemorate moving into their first home together.

Simon has the want to adopt a baby.  (I want I almost never see in my game.)  I was debating about using a surrogate or having someone have a baby they could adopt, but in the end I decided to just use the in game adoption.

While they’re waiting for the baby to arrive, they enjoy a night on the town.

I forgot that Cassidy and Simon were in love and that’s why she invited him out, but with all of her family and both of their partners there, it was just a friendly outing at the coffee shop.

The next morning social services deliver a baby girl named Angela.

Social worker:  I’ll just leave your baby along the side of the road in this big gaping hole in the map.

Social worker:  Perfect.

She leaves the baby along the side of the road and drives away.

Good job.  I have so much faith in this adoption agency.

Luckily, Glenn immediately retrieves the baby and makes sure she is properly taken care of.

These two are ridiculously romantic.  They are always wanting to interact with each other and doing sweet interactions.  Now that they have a new baby to love, life couldn’t be better.

Since Cosmos called to chat with Simon, I summoned him over for a visit, so father and son can get to know each other better and so Cosmos can meet his newest sibling.  (With the twins at home, he has a lot of newborn siblings.)

Fall, Year 8: Gentry, pt. 1

I think this lot is my current favorite.  It turned out looking very pretty and serene and the young families that live here are very cute hanging out in the commons together.  I already posted about Lorraine and Nova who live here because they had a lot happening.  This post is for the other two households, Laurence and Amira, and Zelda and Virgil.

Laurence and Amira’s twins are growing up.  Ansel

and Laura are into the toddler stage.

They sit patiently at the foot of their parents’ bed until they wake up.

When they get bored, they pause to hug each other.

I keep forgetting that Virgil is part of Dahlia’s family, so I have him invite his mother’s household for a visit.  Eli and Delilah don’t come (since they don’t know him well), but his sisters Cecily and Lynette are glad to see their big brother in his new home.

While helping Zachary with his homework, Zelda starts having contractions.

It’s a third baby boy for the couple.  His name is Wendell.

Zelda is a devoted mother.  She’s always rolling wants to interact with her toddler and infant sons.

Meanwhile, Virgil is making his way up the medical career.  He comes home with promotions and then studies cleaning and mechanics to win the next promotion.

Victor sometimes feels like the forgotten middle child, between his parents helping his older brother with his schoolwork and the new baby requiring a lot of attention.  I bought him a logic toy so he could get his aspiration up at the last second to grow up well.

Seriously?  You can’t step over or around that pizza box?  *sigh*

Fall, Year 8: Nova

Cosmos explores his roots and searches the stars.

He has a lot of questions for his mom about their family.

The nanny is excited that Nova is expecting again and is eager to work out child care details.

Since Montague was not returning her calls last season and Simon is happily married to her brother, I start looking for new romantic options for Nova.

University student, Nicholas Durden is one.

And so is Milo Tellerman.  He’s beneath her in status, but I think he’s cute and deserves someone nice after his failed engagement with Sheridan.

It’s time for Nova to give birth.

It’s twin boys.  They are named Castor

and Pollux.

For some reason none of my alien sims have alien eyes.  I poked around in simpe and found that Nova and Rigel both have alien eyes as a recessive gene.  Their dominant gene is the brown that I use as a default replacement, but it might be the version not coded as default. Cosmos did not inherit the alien eye gene and Pollux has it as dominant, but he seems to have some Maxis default brown eyes.  I think I downloaded a fix, but I will have to wait until he’s a toddler to see if it worked.  I can’t remember if Castor has alien eyes as a recessive or not at all.  I might try to switch Rigel’s dominant and recessive genes so I can have more alien eyes.

Shortly after giving birth (way too soon after giving birth, like immediately after setting down the newborn) Nova hops into bed with Nicolas (who she hadn’t even kissed yet) and gets pregnant again . . .

Zachary isn’t sure what he’s walking in on.

Zelda and Virgil decide it’s time for them to go home.

Nova got a roommate named Bill at the beginning of the season to help with the rent, but she still didn’t have enough to pay her share.  Luckily a promotion at work as soon as she returned after having the twins made her enough money, even though the rent went up from the day before for some reason.  I’m not sure if her roommate’s contribution didn’t count because he was at work or if she has to pay a larger share since her family size just doubled, but I didn’t wait for him to come home to see because I was trying to avoid her fear of not paying her rent on time.  Luckily, she still had enough money to pay.

Fall, Year 8: Lorraine

As I started to play the university sims, I decided Leonardo and Vernon had been in the dorms too long (Leonardo especially.  He’s like 40 now.)  Leonardo and Lorraine were apparently in the middle of a date when I loaded the lot (though she tended to spend their dates lost in one of the other dorms) and she had wants to marry both Leonardo and his brother Vernon. 

I decided that it’s time for her to choose.  I hop over to Lorraine’s apartment and summon Leonardo, Vernon, and Rama.

And it goes like this . . .

Finally, Lorraine seems to show a preference.

While her suitors are still at the house, she gives birth to her third child (second with Leonardo.)

It’s another girl.  Her name is Lenore.

I have Lorraine invite Leonardo to move in. 

I thought about moving in Vernon too and letting them all sort it out, but Vernon has other love interests to pursue.

He might not like any of them better than Lorraine though.

Also this season, Lorraine’s middle daughter (with Vernon) Laverne has her child birthday.

Summer, Year 8: Gentry, pt. 3

These vampires and their need to take out the trash during the daylight . . .  If Elizabeth was still a vampire I would totally move them into the vampire apartments.

As it is they aren’t making enough money to pay the rent and try to stall the landlady for another day.

Rodney:  We should have the money tomorrow.  I promise.

They get a new roommate to help out.  (The previous one got moved out by mistake.)  Viola is eager to make friends with the family.

I’m worried Rodney is a little too eager to get close to her.

Sadie and Silas are also having trouble paying their rent.  (Coincidentally, they live in the same apartment as Elizabeth and Rodney, but on a different copy of the lot.)

Silas is still being picky about jobs.  He’d rather stay home and spend time with the kids.

Sadie found a culinary job, but she hasn’t started yet since she’s on maternity leave.  In the meantime she invites her big sister Sophie over for a visit to renew and cement their family connection.

Sophie is just in time to witness Sadie going into labor.

In the middle of Sadie giving birth Aisha decided to try to make a move on Sophie (who rejected the advance) while her wife, Samira, was watching.  Samira was not happy about her wife cheating with her sister while her twin was trying to have a baby.

Baby boy Sidney is welcomed to the world amidst all the family drama.

It’s not too late for Sadie to make it to work for her first day.  She drops Sidney on the ground and takes off.

Eventually Sidney gets picked up from the yard and Silas tries to make up for his son’s rough start in life.

The twins are growing up!

Sasha and Sawyer are children now.  That’s fewer cribs the little ones need, but the family has to scrounge to be able to afford enough beds.

Aisha isn’t behaving much better on her own lot.

Samira: Gah!  How can you do this to me again?!?

When they lose their best friends status, I’m thinking this couple is about through, but Samira immediately drags Aisha to the bedroom.  Aisha may flirt with other sims, but Samira is going to make sure she sleeps with only her.

I don’t get it, but okay.

Samira is more furious with Leonardo and threatens him to stay away.

I had hoped Leonardo could help them have children someday, but that’s looking like a bad idea.  Samira either needs to get used to the cheating or move on.  (I would choose move on, but we’ll see what happens.)
