7. what's your favorite way to travel? Is there a mode of travel you haven't done that you want to experience? (ive seen you post trains and i wanna know your opinions)
13. what's something you learned recently?
7. you're spot on with the train mention - trains are indeed my favourite mode of travel! there is a lot of room for improvement (oh boy, i have so many stories to tell about being stuck in random places because of train delays) but they're interesting enough to me to enjoy travelling by train regardless. and they're also more climate-friendly!
i got to go on several international train rides on a month-long interrail trip to the baltics this summer and it was very cool :)
i think i'd also enjoy travelling on boats / ships - now i'm having romantic thoughts about sailing out to sea lol - but that's something i haven't gotten the chance to do much, since i live in a fairly landlocked area.
13. i recently found out about geohashing and now i'm OBSESSED. it's a... sport? game? hobby? based on an xkcd comic. every day new coordinates get calculated (based on an algorithm that works off of the dow jones, so it's unpredictable) and the challenge is to get to that random spot. this has captured my interest because:
chance to spice up my day by going on random adventurous sidequests
meeting other people with similar nerdy interests
the very amusing and interesting reports written about expeditions on the geohashing website
gamification! you get achievements for doing interesting geohashes (based on location, e.g. in water; time, e.g. at midnight or sunset; activities done at the place, like dressing up as a pirate, building a snowman, petting a cat; interesting ways to get there and so many more)
by using public transport to travel to geohashes, i get to be on TRAINS more :D
go geohashing, it's fun!
(one thing that i TRIED but failed to learn recently was how to crochet a magic circle. i thought crocheting would be easy because i know how to knit. i was so wrong)
