Thinking about soulmate AUs. And I guess the reason I find them so unbelievable is how fucking big the world is.
Like, I saw a post on traditional Georgian dance, and their studio was super similar to a studio I’ve been to in Australia. And I just had this moment of both surreal connection and intense isolation. Like I don’t think I’ve ever consciously thought about the country Georgia, let alone what people do who live there. But somewhere in Georgia there is a dance studio with really similar window paning to one in Adelaide, Australia.
Like, there is just no way to consciously hold the concept of every single fucking person on the earth. Like even if you were aware of the concept of soulmates, there’s just no way to predict that your soulmate could be half way round the world in a dance studio with good windows, hitting some other guy with a sword.
Like, fuck.
And yet in every fic the soulmate of the protagonist is the hot neighbour from down the road who they’ve known since birth.
Face it, if soulmates were actually real the odds are we’d all just ignore them anyway. Pavle, you enjoy the natural lighting in your well windowed dance studio, imma look for someone a bit closer to home.

Apparently some people are still a little unsure how to dance to Fiona Apple's music, fear not - these guys are here to show you how.
