Are we active in the gospel--or are we merely busy in the church?

En una ocasión, el presidente Russell M. Nelson comparó la Iglesia con un hermoso automóvil. A todos nos gusta cuando nuestro vehículo está limpio y reluciente; pero el propósito del auto no es que llame la atención como una máquina atractiva, sino que transporte a las personas en el auto2. Del mismo modo, nosotros, como miembros de la Iglesia, valoramos el tener hermosos lugares de adoración que estén limpios y bien mantenidos, y también disfrutamos tener programas que funcionan bien; pero esos son simplemente sistemas de apoyo. Nuestro único objetivo es invitar a todo hijo e hija de Dios a venir a Cristo y a guiarle por la senda del convenio; nada reviste mayor importancia. En nuestra labor, lo importante son las personas y los convenios.

Apathy and weariness may make us passive to miracles and works of God.  The Nephites saw the signs of Jesus’ birth, but 4 years later had forgotten.  

1 - Never Tire of discovering or rediscovering the truths of the gospel.   Remember the first time you felt the Holy Ghost.  There is always something new at church and in the scriptures, in every meeting and every verse.  If we seek, we shall find.

2 - Anchor your faith in the plain and simple truths of the Gospel. They are the most core and important parts of the gospel.  People have walked hundreds and thousands of miles for this gospel.  Don’t take it for granted

3 - Seek the companionship of the Holy Ghost.  when we have the spirit with us, our memory is kindled so we cannot find the spiritual things we have learned. It is a marvelous gift.  we must seek it through righteous living. 

All of these gifts are anchored in the atonement.
