A Baby Ciri AU

Okay so I saw a picture of Geralt with baby Ciri and it got me thinking: an AU where Geralt receives his child of surprise a lot sooner than he expected.

-Geralt and Jaskier are on the road a year after their encounter with Pavetta and Duny when it happens.

-A dying man arriving as he hands the confused witcher a baby girl with white hair.

"Ciri...your child of surprise..."

-Jaskier's confused and Geralt is not happy. For Gods sakes, he can't take care of a child on the path. But what can he do? People are searching for Ciri and wish to do her harm. He's the only one who can protect her.

-Neither men are entirely sure of how to take care of a baby but slowly they grow more adept with the growing girl.

-They have a specific cut out bag they use to carry the girl around, a prototypical papoose.

-They're co-parents. Jaskier taking care of Ciri when Geralt's on a hunt and Geralt taking care of her when Jaskier is performing or out on a date.

-Geralt coming back from a two day hunt to find Jaskier wild eyed and covered in baby vomit waiting.

Jaskier: *trying to calm a crying Ciri* Where. Were. You?

Geralt: *covered in monster blood* You look like shit.

-It's a few months later when they run into Yenn again. The sorceress has absolutely no idea how these two idiots are taking care of a baby.

-Making herself Ciri's...third parent? Aunt? They still haven't really decided on a title for her yet but she absolutely adores Ciri. Treating her as the child she always wanted.

-It's thanks to Yenn when Ciri is three years old that they realize. Oh shit. Ciri has elder blood. And teleportation powers. Something no could should have.

-Geralt's loved for many years now but the thing that might actually kill him is Ciri induced stress.

Jaskier: We need a leash.

Yennefer: She'd just teleport out of it.

Geralt: She doesn't know that.

Yennefer: I...I mean...

-Ciri is a wild child. She's been catching fish with her bare have since she was five. She eats raw meat regularly.

-Monsters have learned to fear the child with a pointed stick. She didn't get sword privileges until she was ten.

-The wolves know about Ciri and they absolutely adore her. Well Lambert will never show it but he does.

Vesemir: *looks at Ciri, then Geralt* ...I'd ask how but honestly if it means having a child here again, I'll take it.

-Jaskier, Geralt and Yennefer have obviously had conflicts on how to raise Ciri but there doing fine by normal standards.

-She's just turned eighteen when her birth father shows up ready to take her to Vizima so she can be in the royal court.

-They're not taking any of that shit. But to humor the man Geralt sends Ciri to the palace.

-Ciri. Who's never worn a dress in her life. Who doesn't use utensils. Who can kill a man with one hand.

-Emhyr shouldn't have been as surprised as he was when Ciri made a break for it. Besides she's a grown woman now, she'll do whatever the hell she wants.

-Her actual parents couldn't be more proud.
