We missed National Pumpkin Day on Tuesday, but we certainly didn’t want to forget about pumpkins or this beautiful still life painting by Paula Modersohn-Becker.
German painter Paula Modersohn-Becker (1876-1907) is recognized as one of the most important representatives of early expressionism, as well as the first known female painter to paint a nude self-portrait. She died young at the age of 31 from a postpartum embolism and left behind numerous ground-breaking works.
Along with self-portraits and portraits of children, she made still life paintings. In this still life, Modersohn-Becker sliced a pumpkin to show the inside with most of the seeds removed to draw viewers’ eyes into the hollowed-out space.
Image description: Still life of apples and a pumpkin on the table with a tablecloth. A slice of pumpkin on the right foreground. The rest of the pumpkin is placed behind, showing the inside of the pumpkin. A bowl of apples sits next to the pumpkin and four more apples are placed in front of the bowl.

Fred Thieler - European Abstract Art - Art Informel & Abstract Expressionism Painting "Fred Thieler was a German painter known for his engagement with Art Informel styles of painting, including lyrical and expressive abstraction. The artist’s paintings showcased the fluidity of the medium through long, dramatic brushstrokes and watery splashes of pigment , creating a sense of movement across the canvas." #art #artist #painer #germanartist #germanpainter #germanart #europeanpainting #europeanabstractpainting #artistic #fineart #artwork #painting #abstractart #abstractartwork #abstractpainting #abstractexpressionism #artinformel #Contemporaryart #VisualArt #visualculture #culture #blog #artblog @expositionblog https://www.instagram.com/p/CCiSGRMHDrD/?igshid=1sowgifn05azp
What I like love a lot painting in the studio in rotation painting is the freedom surprising myself being nonattached. The good thing is the paintings grow in quality, style, aesthetic, meaning with every month/ year, mirroring where my plateau is a painter, as man spiritual/ personal growth/ conciousness. While working I always listen something. Listening useful growth/ selfhelp/ history videos, fiction/ growth/ selfhelp/ social dynamics/ pua/ redpill/ history/ psychology/ neuroscience/ audiobooks, although al lot music from all kinds of music directions. While i paint I sometimes switch during my workflow my focus from the vibe the audio content gives me to how particular words, pronunciations, sounds, music sounds what so ever Iam listening trigger take me to feel, see, act, think a certain way, regarding my painting/ the painting process. With this observing the observer/ observing the audio influence influencing me being not being present in the moment while painting, I create space in between realities a unknown territory where I can fill a gap with my paintings/ how I paint/ what I paint. While painting I sometimes watch myself, knowing that concious thought is created with a delay, that the decision is produced in the mind Millie seconds in past, trying to engineer reverse what visual element with in the painting/ around the painting in my sight/ what I was hearing brought me to think painting this/ painting that. What I although do is reflecting while painting is how my painting will effect the personal trauma healing process/ growth process will have, every person has. My thought process compares while painting the color choices, with the color meanings, the effects colors have, and how my paintings will effect the viewer in there implicit ways. #SEAK #ClausWinkler #CWinkler #Winkler #Künstler #Germanartist #Germanpainter #Contemporaryart #Kunst #Gallery #Artgallery #Galerie #Painting #Picturemaker #Makingpicture #Bildermacher #Bildermachen #Art #SEAKClausWinkler (hier: Cologne, Germany) https://www.instagram.com/p/CA0ri4Pil0o/?igshid=169e5apn9ganf
