Be More Chill Interview Quotes Pt. 2

Electric boogaloo.

One thing I love about this quote is that it's discussing how Christine never finishes her songs with rhymes. This is relevant because during the play she rhymes while Squipped, which is proof that she isn't herself. It's things like this that I love.

Joe Iconis really said "give females better songs" and I for one am with him on this. Modern musicals are doing a better job at this so Joe, your wishes are coming true.

Honestly it's a very nice quote. One of ny favorites from the original album.

So there's an interview where Joe Iconis discusses the songs and I love the quotes from it because they're either really funny or extremely revealing. So I'm gonna just talk about these quotes in a few posts

I’ve seen bits and pieces of your opinion, but how do you feel about Spocy Bis?

Richemy is legit my favorite ship, that's mostly because I kin both Jeremy and Rich and shipping them is lowkey coping with my self loathing but also because I just love their dynamic a lot.

Honestly, after Stage Dorks, I think it's the next most likely Jeremy ship but I'm bias so... They're just... I love them. A lot. I'm actually writing a fic that is partially Richemy(its Richemy + Stage Dorks bc Third Act makes me w e a k).

I've been here for 4 years and I can definitely see a change. More people are becoming aware of things like rare pairs and the fact that Michael isn't a pure boy and stuff, and ngl it's refreshing. If only people wouldn't bash Broadway then we'd be in a better situation but, ya know, it is what it is.

Okay this will be fun. So from the stand point of villain characters, I think the Squip is AMAZING. Like it's such a good villain, and the fact that it lacks morality makes that fact even creepier. I really like how it tells Jeremy that he's the reason it knows what it's supposed to do, that's just really messed up in like any context.

Also the outfits? Are amazing? All the versions of the outfits. They're just so out there and I love them.

The Squip in the like... Context of abuser characters is... My god where do I start. You think Mother Gothel from Tangled is abusive? This is that cranked up by 200. It's in Jeremy's head, it can literally read his thoughts and stop his thoughts. It can probably mess with his memory! It's fricking horrifying. And that's probably why I enjoy it so much as a character. Like it's just so interesting.

And the lore! Oh the implications about lore! The fact that we don't know what Squips were made for! It's implied Jeremy's Squip began evolving to have fake emotions, and implied that it's defective. And also the fact that the company that made Squips has so much power they convinced the Mountain Dew company to STOP selling a whole brand of Mtn Dew.

All in all I think the Squip is neat and also a little shit who hurt Jeremy(as well as Rich and the entire Squad but this is about Jeremy's Squip specifically-)
