1/2 Hi, Gestir here. I know how I would like the fourth story in "Friends, for lack of..." should go. Bear with me. :-) Jane gets shot at AGAIN which breaks Mauras heart AGAIN and this time Jane gets it. Time to do something. So she proposes. Her motivation: They already do everything together except have sex, and with Maura as wife she has the right to make medical decisions when needed.
2/2 They end up living happily together, and Jane being Jane always proudly introduces Maura as her wife. And then fills in "and by the way, I'm straight". This is an endless source of confusion for people at first and a private joke for J&M. What they do, or don't do, in the bedroom is nobody's business. I feel this would suit their souls. Maura gets stability and the ring that proves that Jane will stay. Jane gets security and Maura. Happy end. As always: Thank you for writing and sharing!

Sorry for not replying sooner; I was away from a proper computer for a while visiting family out of country.
I do like this concept, the security they both want and how their relationship is really nobody’s business.
I actually started a fourth piece, that I never really managed to finish, which ended up veering in a direction I didn’t really like and I didn’t feel fit them, but I didn’t know how to fix it. (Catalyst, in the WIP meme I’ll be posting in a bit, if anyone’s curious.) I haven’t written for Rizzoli and Isles in aaages, but I just might pick that one up, because it’s been niggling at me off and on for just as long. I think I know where I want to go with it now. So many thanks!
