Gestrument App Translates Gestures Into MIDI

When we hear about MIDI control and the iPad, the typical use for MIDI is to communicate with an external controller, plugged into the iPad.  Rarely do we hear things about having gestures on the iPad itself being translated into MIDI.  This has literally been the quest of one man on a small budget, Jesper Nordin.  His app is known as Gestrument, and it was created to enable composers to use the iPad as a real-time composition tool.  One thing that has to be said is that Nordin comes from a traditional composition background, meaning that his approach to music making might be a little different from those who are used to sampling and sequencing.

This app was designed to let your compose music using defined scales and rhythms which means that gestures made inside of certain parameters are guaranteed to sound right.  Gestrument also grants users the ability to control other external MIDI apps on iOS, however, there are still some communication bugs that need to be worked out.  In his short demo video he takes advantage of the iRig MIDI and he really only needs two fingers to get the idea across.  Nordin is also accepting criticisms and feedback of his software, so those who are willing to try need not be afraid of getting left in the dark. http://www.synthtopia.com/content/2012/11/14/gestrument-app-translates-gestures-into-midi/

"A Venusian Mass"

Well. I know it's a stupid idea.

Today, walking alone, I was thinking what kind of music play on Venus during their religious meeting. Let's say a wedding. So after dinner I pecked up my iPad and start strumming on Waldorf Nave and a preset came out ...

The perfect sound. A kind of Vocoder so I laid down some MIDI tracks in BeatMaker 2 using Gestrument and track after track came out a perfect Venusian Wedding Mass Music.

Gestrument, a great iOS new gesture instrument.

 Ok my eclectic friends.

I have four PROMO CODES of Gestrument, by Jasper Nordin, a revolutionary instrument for iOS.

What is Gestrument?

"Gestrument is a gesture based instrument/controller for professional musicians who can build advanced theoretical frameworks that they can later improvise within. But Gestrument works directly with its internal synth and presets and is therefore perfect for the beginner who wants to explore making music in an intuitive way."

At the first glance Gestrument need a little bit of time to use and a small knack of music but it's a powerful improvisation/creation app.
