Something I’ve learned when it comes to poses; if you want to give yourself a lot of options, draw one basic pose for a character, then make variations of it. If you learn how to draw a dozen or-so basic poses, then you can make several variations of it. It might even be as simple as changing what the arms are doing, and that gives a whole different vibe to the character. These are all pretty cutesey poses, so you could probably imagine the character is cheerful and sweet. I could have done more variations with different combos of the gestures and hopefully still convey the cute attitude. Even if you just draw a character standing around, a hand on their hip or arms crossed across the chest is a variation, one leg bent slightly or both legs strong and straight in a power-stance are variations. Sometimes just very small changes say a lot. You can also have multiple characters who look very different but they started from the same basic pose (one is slouching and looking lazy, one is jumping up in excitement, one is waving and looking friendly, one has clenched fists in anger, one has hands in their pockets as they look down like they are shy). You can add different body-type features, like muscles/fat or tall/short and face details, once you have the general pose figured out. Hope this helps somebody a little~
