Babyyy
Truckin’ along over here. Lots of baby time this week, being off from work. Pep had his 9-month checkup on Monday afternoon. He’s measuring 29.5” and 22.9lbs - my big chunker! He’s 87th percentile for height and 80th for weight, so he’s growing well and the doctors are happy with it. He still has no teeth to show for his 9-month-old self, but no concerns there. One exciting thing that the pediatrician did say to us is that he can start eating “off our plates” so to speak, or eating what we eat (as long as it’s gummable and in very small bits of course). I hadn’t been giving him much seasoned food, so that’s awesome!
He got his flu shot at his appointment and since then he’s been pretty fussy. The last two nights of sleep have been ROUGH. He usually will sleep straight through, so we’re spoiled with that, but these past two nights he’s been up crying a lot. Today he seems in better spirits, so hopefully that’s wearing off.
We tried to go to the local outdoor wildlife zoo yesterday, but it was closed. Bummer. We still went for a lovely walk, though. Today we’re going on a small hike this afternoon and tomorrow we’re planning a hike that’s a little longer and further away. Fingers crossed the babe will be up for it.
I ordered pep a new high chair which is supposed to arrive today.. the one we were gifted before he was born is way too reclined and he can hardly reach his food on the tray. This one (Graco Table2Table 7-in-1) was pricey, but I’m excited. Hopefully it’ll last us a long time, as it converts into a few different chairs.
Random: anyone have a way to get rid of fruit flies? Since we’ve been keeping a lot of fresh fruits and veggies around for the baby, we’ve gotten fruit flies and they’re driving me insane. I can’t seem to get rid of them. Maybe it’s just impossible if we’re keeping fruits and veggies out? Who knows. It’s a small thing, but if I could get rid of those little suckers, what a victory it would be. 😂

I love this dapper lil’ man and his smile. He’s especially happy since I upgraded him to a 12″ x 12″ x 18″ terrarium :)
My kiddo is finishing 5th grade today. Middle school next year. I am not ok😭😭
