Urgent (ish) if you can: I recently brought up transitioning (getting T) to my mom, and she took it well, as she tries her best to accept and help me. She asked me if I wanted to see a doctor for it and I said yes. But what is concerning for me is that I didn't know that I was trans until I was about ~9. Even then I didn't know what it was that was different. I knew I didn't fully identify with girls. When I figured out what transgender was I identified with that fully. That was about when 1/2
I was about ~12. I also liked typically "girly" things up to about 5-6. (dresses, skirts, etc) My question and concern is will they (the doctors) still let me get the hormone even though I didn't know when I was younger then I was?

I'm not well verse in this except for what my friends have gone through. Most of them are FTM but they had to do about two years of counseling before they started on hormones. They went to the doctor and raised their concerns and got a referral to a transgender counselor. I think this is more for your own sake rather for them. They want you to be well informed of the process and your decision ensuring that this is really the route you want because if you're still in question about it they most likely won't go through, you know? You wouldn't get plastic surgery unless you're 100000% sure that this is what you want and no doctor would want to operate on you unless you're 100000% sure. I don't think they'll judge on how long you've known that you were a male. Because that's not entirely realistic. A lot of people don't know until they're much older. They knew that they didn't feel right in their body but for decades we didn't even know the concept of transgender, you know? So I don't think that'll be the problem.
