Love reading your Brio thoughts! For the OTP ask: 6, 8 and/or 12 Thanks!
Thank you, anon! And thank you for sending these through 😊
6. What moment made each person first realize they were in love with the other?
I tend to think they both really rejected this idea that they were in love with each other for a long time, and that it was probably pretty close to the end of the series that they really owned it, but I do think 2.07 made the fact that they had deeper feelings for each other impossible to ignore.
As an episode, it delivers on so many fronts, but there are four moments of really palpable emotion that twists the knife in terms of the depth and cut of those feelings. It's Beth's outrage at Dean suggesting Rio took their daughter, one of the angriest moments we've ever seen her on the show, before immediately going to him, it's Rio's anger that she went into the house at all, and then it's him going into the house even though he knows Jane won't be there (just in case), and then when she's not, him taking her baby blanket, and Beth's reaction to unpacking it.
None of those moments have any justification outside of real feelings, outside of trust, outside of something that looks and feels a lot like love, and I think they both tried to ignore it in the aftermath, but when they look back - - yeah. That's the night.
8. What would they consider the most romantic thing that happened between them?
Answered here!
12. What would both say is their favorite memory of the other?
I think for Rio, it'll always be when Beth read him for filth when he tried to kill her the first time, just for the sheer record scratch of it, haha, and for Beth, I think it would probably be that moment in 2.08 before everything went to shit, where the sun caught his face just right and as he offered to take care of everything for her. (She would always have - will always - decline, needs to do this herself, but it doesn't stop the heart stutter that comes with the fact that she knows he could and that he would).
Ask me shippy questions!
