clementine had been feeling some type of way after the gala. what was she feeling? she didn’t really know. her and sebastian had always been complicated, and the weekend hadn’t really made anything more clear to her. it wasn’t an issue of whether they wanted each other, so much as the fact that either of them just kept doing nothing about it. so against what was probably her better judgement, she walked her ass in the opposite direction of where she lived after her trip to the gym, freshly out of the shower and still smelling like strawberry shampoo, to sebastian’s place. after making exactly one stop, she knocked on his door with her hands feeling sweaty, waiting for him to answer the door with her heart in her throat. it wasn’t like she’d never been to his place before, but it was usually in the presence of other company, and it definitely wasn’t ever unannounced. when he opened the door she smiled nervously. she always managed to be shy around him at first, feeling like a fourth-grader having to swallow their fear and give their crush a valentine’s day card. “uhm, hey.” she held up the bottle of wine she’d procured on the way over, “donatella told me this is one of your favorites. are you busy...?” the book he’d given her laid heavy in her bag and she thought maybe she was ready to talk about it now, even if it felt like he’d read her more than she’d wanted to be seen.
