If you ignore all the people telling you this project is wrongheaded, and you start getting actual submissions about transfem abuse of non-transfems, will you at least try to read through and make sure those submissions aren't actively stoking hate? You want to highlight individual stories of abuse at the hands of transfems, but people WILL use that as an opportunity spread bigotry. Will you disavow and not publish submissions that include actively transmisogynistic messages? What if they try to name specific trans women on or off this site?
of course i’m going to screen the submissions.
if someone sends in something that’s just mask-off transmisogyny or a thinly veiled excuse to push a bigoted agenda, it’s going straight in the trash. i’m not here to be a mouthpiece for anyone’s hate. i’m here for survivors.
and as for naming people? hard no. absolutely not.
i know exactly what it’s like to have people try to wreck your life. i spent my late teens dealing with a relentless, long-running hate campaign that turned into irl stalking. it was the most fucked up, terrifying time of my life. i wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, let alone let this blog be used to do it to someone else. if anyone tries to doxx or target someone, i’m not just going to reject the post; i’m going to report it, delete it, and make sure it’s gone. if people try to use this project as an avenue for that behavior i will do everything in my power to help make sure they get banned for it. it is unacceptable.
i'm holding space for people to talk about their own trauma, not for people to find new ways to be violent. i’ve been on the other side of that kind of harassment, and i am not going to be the reason someone else has to go through it. simple as that.
