I am making a LIST of cool things that could be spell components. Ghost-glass apples definitely belong on this list.

I do a lot of mountain hiking, and sometimes you find eerie places like this off the trail. Abandoned orchards with rotting fruit and old overgrown farm fields. Random scattered bones hidden in the tall grass and trees.
(Also she doesn’t eat the white apples, in case your wondering xD)
My last drawing of 2020 ✨I love “ghost apples”— apples that defrost before the ice that encases them does — and wanted to make a drawing inspired by them!
As soon as I saw these I wondered if, centuries ago, they thought these were magic, from witchcraft! And I hope they were never seen in the garden of a very old, bent widow who occasionally drank herbal tea.
