Minatoya Ghost Candy Shop Higashi, Kyoto Over 400 years ago, a shopkeeper was visited by a woman desiring candy. She visited for many nights, always with the same request for candy. Curious, the shopkeeper followed her one evening after she had left the shop.  Her route led to a cemetery where a baby's cries could be heard. After some searching, a baby was discovered among the decaying remains of its mother. Around the baby were remnants of candy. It is believed the woman who visited the shop was the baby's dead mother.
