Happy Pride
i accidentally have a crush on ryan magee oops
I think the reason I struggled to celebrate May Day this year is because I haven't really figured out what it means to me, to my practice. It's in between the vernal equinox/High Spring and the summer solstice...in the life cycle of humans it falls between the joy of childhood (High Spring) and the richness of adulthood (Midsummer). So I thought of using it to celebrate my exploration of sexuality, since I've been going through a phase of honest reexamination. But damn, I just didn't have the energy for all that on the actual day LOL...
I'm thinking about celebrating it anyway, in stages, when I feel like it. Painting my altar in pinks and reds and oranges...to celebrate the queerness I've been feeling but have been too afraid to wrap myself in...
I've been out of touch with my craft. Currently brainstorming ways to incorporate more fibre arts and spell weaving into daily practice. 🕷️🕸️

can i ask, how do you personally celebrate imbolc? if you want to share
That's a really great question! That I don't have an exciting answer for LOL
Imbolc is important to my mother, who's really into our Irish and Scottish heritage and does devotions to the goddess and saint Brigid. So when I celebrate, I usually go along with whatever she wants to do for the day.
For me as an agnostic naturalist, it's the midpoint between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. Where I live is still buried in snow, the trees and animals are still resting. This year I got some blackberry flavored milk and a special ice cream treat, as well as some nuts and preserves. I might step outside for a little bit to enjoy the quiet of winter, and let myself rest since it's still hibernation season.
Thanks for asking! Do you have any Imbolc celebrations planned?
Good news!! My local cemetery is melted enough to drive through again! The Bug Demon is practically vibrating with excitement.
Oh to build my own practice that is just...a celebration of community and connection. An awe and curiosity for science and nature and love for all the things that make us human
Y'know?
