The CEO has sent you off on a pathfinding mission, and you're considering the possibility of just not coming back.

Reblog this on the first of the month for good luck all month long!
he seems to be doing a pretty good job tbh
theist accelerationism: the world needs to get as bad as possible as fast as possible so God is forced to intervene
atheist accelerationism: the world needs to get as bad as possible as fast as possible in order to trigger a collapse of the current economic and socio-political structure
agnostic accelerationism: nobody knows why the world needs to get as bad as possible as fast as possible

Saw this news and I had to make a rough sketch about it. 🥹 We humans always underestimate the empathy and care of other animals..
at the end of the day the most powerful talisman of all is an extremely well-loved teddy bear

This happy ending has the unsettling feel of a fever-dream.

creating an altar to yourself: an exercise in manifestation and passive control
recently my best friend told me about a change he made to his personal practice that completely revolutionized the way he felt fortune flowed for him. i've seen people talk about creating an egregore of themselves or their alter ego, but this approach is uniquely secular and occurred completely detached from this online space.
and what was it he did? well, he created an altar to himself.
and i know what that sounds like, but hear me out. this isn't so much an altar of worship or reverence--at least not in the way we think about those things--it's a passive spell that runs in the background, an act of self-care for his past self, boosting his self-confidence for his current self, and manifesting the person he wants to become.
A trick for myself, I'm finding, to a successful spell, is to accept whatever feelings you have about it after the fact.
I tend to worry. Especially when my OCD gets more severe, the thoughts just don't stop. Casting a spell is difficult when my mental health gets bad, because all I can think of is how I'll mess it up, or how it won't work, or how I'm doing it wrong, it won't help...
And the worst part is! I'll then beat myself up for having doubts in the first place. Then I'll feel bad about having beaten myself up. And then, and then, and then, down the hypothetical rabbit hole we go, over-intellectualizing my own feelings.
When you can't stop a worry, you can accept the worry. Embrace it. I know, deep down, that my brain is trying to help me but is going too far in the pursuit of saving myself. I thank my brain for trying, and tell it that I understand where it's coming from. I sit with the worry instead of worrying about the worry. I sit with the doubt.
I've been working on a good thing to say to finish spells. I will always have a weakness for "so mote it be," if I'm being honest (or maybe that's because my beloved has finally gotten me to play Hades 2, despite me not having played the first game, and I quite enjoy the way they Hecate says the phrase).
But I think my favorite is becoming- It is done. Simple. A clear, defined end point that my mind can understand. It's as though a line is drawn between the working magic and my overactive mind. Whether I worry or not, it doesn't matter. It is done!
i love that.
not gonna say it again!!!!

a MANGAL is a swamp whose soil concentrates high amounts of salt and very low amounts of oxygen, supporting little else than mangrove trees
a PEATLAND is a wetland whose soil concentrates decaying organic matter, becoming peat

Do any of u have decent recipes that are like 5 ingredients (not including spices) and take 45 mins or less to prepare i gotta stop eating sandwiches for dinner
yeah hang on
ignore the title of this google doc because it's a long story but it's a really solid recipe for southwest chicken alfredo
this is a vegetarian potato curry recipe that's about 75% spices; once you get the potatoes in there you can really do whatever you want with it
this is literally just pasta, broccoli, and cheese babey and you can live off that shit for DAYS it makes such a big portion
bro this spinach/pesto/3 cheese flatbread is so fucking tasty bro
also you can make the flatbread yourself it's super quick!!
oh hey I'm eating this white chickpea chili right now, much like the curry it's mostly spices and you can do p much do whatever you want with it
don't let the name fool you these potatoes are delicious any time. not just breakfast.
this is slightly more than five ingredient when you add them together but if you have time and really wanna fuckin treat yourself I recommend these chicken strips + this cornbread + either these potatoes or these buttered veggies on the side.
These are my two favorite comfort foods. They're very easy to make and dont take long to cook.
Garlic butter rice
Orzo mac and cheese (comes out a little bit soupy)
this recipe for gogumabap (sweet potato and rice) saved my life when i couldn't eat hardly anything for a long time. the recipe itself calls for a heavy bottomed pot but you can absolutely use a rice cooker and put the rice and diced sweet potato in together and just let the machine do its thing
If you have a crockpot, I do a really good pulled pork carnitas that is:
Pork - any cut boneless
Onions- chopped anyway you like
Orange juice - about one cup (you can use about 2 tablespoons of the condensed frozen stuff if you have it)
Root beer, pepsi, or other cola soda - about one cup
Preferred chili mix seasoning - 1-2 packets depending on how intense you like your flavoring and how much pork you put in
Garlic - as much as you wanna, specifically smashed not cut
Canned or frozen corn - to your preference
Dump all that into your crockpot in the morning (or the night before) and let it run on low until dinner. Cook some rice if you feel like it, or just serve over tortillas.
bro WTF, I wanna try this just for the sheer shit of it
If you notice there's less lightning bugs around then there was when you were young, you aren't going crazy. Lightning bugs/fireflies are becoming endangered!
Above is a video from one of my favorite youtubers, Ze Frank, that goes into more detail.
Lightning bug conservation is not being funded, so the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation requires donations to further their research. The aim is to establish lighting bug sanctuaries and begin habitat restoration efforts.
Studying these little guys has done so much for us in many different fields including medicine! It's important that lightning bugs are protected so future generations can experience that magical feeling of sitting in a field surrounded by little lights.
Fireflies are cherished, but they are also declining. Based on assessments published on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s
Please consider donating! Every bit helps🐝
Reblogs are appreciated!
Summertime is approaching, prime lightning bug season. Bringing this post back because there's still work to be done! The Xerces Society does more then just protect lightning bugs, but butterflies and bees too!
They also have a free PDF guide on how to make your yard/property/garden as firefly safe as possible!
Fireflies are some of our most celebrated insects. They have immense cultural, biological, and economic importance and are important compone
Long live the fireflies!
We need to do more things that help our souls breathe.
Today is one of my holy days, honoring the animal mother Drove. First Fawn Day, as one might guess, is marked by the first fawn sighting of the season. This years fawn was so tiny and new that it was barely the size of its mother's head.
