Could you do some hcs about the maitlands just being amazing ghost parents to lydia?

absofuckinglutely.

- you’re gonna to bet that lydia always has the best projects in the school because adam insists on helping her

- both maitlands help lydia with her photo shoots, helping to make things “levitate” by holding them and stuff like that. (people still don’t know how she does it.)

- when lydia comes out to them (whether sexuality or gender) they take it all in stride - they make her something with whatever flag’s colors and give it to her. (she definitely does not cry)

- barbara helps her with her homework, because although lydia may really like science, she’s not a fan of most other subjects, and so has a tendency to not pay attention.

- the second lydia gets even slightly sick, both ghosts immediately start smothering her with blankets, tissues, and soup. (she acts annoyed, but secretly loves it)

- the maitlands may not be interested in or understand what the hell lydia is talking about, but you bet they’ll listen to her talk about it and try and learn more about it so that they can keep up with her

- lydia disclosed the fact that someone was bullying her at some point, and the next day in school was Not a good one for the bully. the maitlands deny everything (even though they definitely did enlist the help of beetlejuice and went to the school to Fuck Shit Up)

- they pick up on the little things! like knowing when to get lydia a blanket because she’s upset, when to steer clear of certain topics, and just small things like that.

- for their first joint christmas (or whatever holiday they celebrate,) lydia makes them both something. they cry, and they put them in the attic where they’ll always be able to see them. (they end up making a little space in the attic for everything lydia makes for them)

- they definitely came to parent-teacher night with the deetzs. (beej had to be there too so that the maitlands could, but didn’t cause trouble because the maitlands would’ve found some way to kill him again)

- they sometimes join in on lyds and bj’s schemes, so long as it won’t have any super bad consequences (maitlands 2.0 babey)

- although charles is like, yknow, her Dad dad, he respects the dynamic, and is just happy that his daughter has 2 more adults that care about her, and are positive role models for her (most of the time)

- at the end of the day, the ghost parents love their gothy breather child, and would die (again) for her in a heart beat.

Number whatever of Fics I Won't Write:

The Drs Fenton die. Via lab accident, their own blindness, whatever. Jazz is in college or otherwise unable to take custody. So Danny ends up in Gotham (either via escape social services or what have you) and he's tired. His parents are dead and he loved them but. They hurt him. A lot. Constantly. And a tiny part of him was almost relieved they were dead. (and didn't that scare him? Make him terrified of the future where he became Dan) he ends up in Wayne manor. And time passes and maybe they Know and maybe they don't but eventually he has to go back to Amity. (the portal was closed before he left in a fit of pain and tears) but he has Unfinished Buisness in the Realms and Amity is still his haunt (though he's starting to think that Gotham could be one day) and, if he being honest with himself, he misses his rouges, just a little bit. They were different after his parents died, though he had been too grief stricken to notice.

He gets back to Amity, maybe with the bats maybe without. But he says hi to his friends, eats dinner with the Foleys like old times, dodges Dash and eventually ends up in front of the portal. The spot where it had all began. And he opens it. Expect Skulker or maybe Technus or even Clockwork.

But.

But.

It's his parents.

Front and center. Like they had been waiting for him.

And, you could play this however you want, anger or obsession driving them.

But I imagined them crying. Begging forgiveness. Saying they finally understand. And they can't believe they shot their baby.

At some point the Bats come in and are just all WTF?

And a past Danny would have been angry

Would have forgiven them anyway.

But this Danny was trained by Batman. Taught loss from Bruce Wayne.

Saw what holding onto the need for revenge did to him. Saw what his No Kill rule did to Jason.

This Danny learned that even the unforgivable can be forgiven. Understands that you don't owe it to anyone but yourself.

This Danny knows boundaries. Understands talking and teamwork and peace.

This Danny grieved. For his parents. For a childhood he never got. For his own half death.

This Danny had hope that they would get a second chance. Had hoped for year's that when he opened that portal he would be able to track them down and be a family again.

This Danny knew they were never really a family to begin with. This Danny was a Wayne for all he was a Fenton. This Danny knew that family should be afraid for each other. Not of each other. This Danny had enough sleep and hadn't gone to bed hungry in a long time. This Danny knew that being afraid to eat in your own home was wrong.

He reached out and hugged his parents. Introduced them to the Waynes. And tells them that they have a lot of work to (un)do.

Jazz will be so proud once she finishes her doctorate and sees what kind of man her brother has grown up to be.

honestly how do some kids have the ability to openly tell there parents there hurting and are depresses and self harm? like how is it possible to have that mind of relationship? mine found out once and did nothing but scream at me.. i wanna take mental health days from school.. i want them to ask me if im okay.. how im doing.. tbh they havent even asked how im doing about my best friends suicide since the night it happened 4 months ago.. i dont think they really care.. but hey im glad other kids dont have to deal with this, good for you(:
