Ghosts in the County Website?

It's always been crunchy and slow to load, like every other net-based function in the region. I mean, we practically just transitioned away from dial-up. But this morning, some fellow sleuths brought something to my attention.

Yes. Gloamingcounty.com has been hacked. Not sure about their choice in graphics and decoration, but I appreciate the chaos for sure. I cracked up after loading the home screen only to find that creepy old lamb mascot tiled across the entire thing with its cheeky little grin.

Then, the slideshow loaded in. Most of the images look like home videos or photographs likely donated by community members. I wouldn't be surprised if they were drawn from the town's pre-existing photo bank. Then this happened:

This image has entranced me, dear reader. Who is she? Mysterious, silhouetted, some trace of a face just barely legible through the grain... Look at the blurry, indistinct shape of her shoulders. The nonsensical way the photograph smears around her, as if it can't believe she's there. Because she isn't.

Yes, I do believe we have a ghost in the machine. Or a liberal use of the blur tool in Photoshop. One of those. But in the spirit of Hallow's Eve festivities, I'd like to believe in ghost stories for once in my little skeptic's life.

The Gloaming County ghost. What should we call her?

Okay I thought to share I got this idea of there being ghost sightings in Carthya and people disappearing in a nearby forest and when Jaron and friends went to investigate.  ( there was a mention of ghost in crypt in book 5 so I thought what if there are ghost incidents?) And the men who came with Jaron were brave in war but afraid of ghosts.😨 And Jaron says to Roden why are Roden's men trembling like this and Roden say they are Jaron's men, Jaron is king. Mott tells the men later with Roden to not tremble by scolding them a little. Tobias is too close to Jaron ( because Tobias is most scared like when  Jaron went to the crypt in book 5 but Tobias is more scared here cause people had disappeared. ) Jaron annoyed says Amarinda is braver than Tobias she is not trembling like Tobias and tells Tobias to stop shaking and hold someone else. Perhaps Darius who was with them too so Jaron told Tobias to hold Darius. Tobias won't.  🤣 Meanwhile like some Scooby-Doo show Jaron is like it's best if they split up but all his friends are like NO!! Especially Mott won't leave the king to wander off.🤣🤣 By the way I needed someone to disappear for real from that group . And I went for Fink. Sorry Fink 😞 and Jaron panics then but don't worry Fink turned out completely fine somewhere just got separated.🤣
