Hii! I saw the posts and the date on them so I'm not really expecting a reply (I never do in general because that's just mean!), but my favorite plant is Monotropa uniflora! My favorite fungus is Mycena chlorophos! What are your favorites? I also LOVE and am fascinated by bioluminescence as well. Not plant related, but I just love it so much I can't shut up about it!
Thank you for the question. I would have to say my favourite plant is the Dionaea muscipula Aka the Venus Flytrap, due to it's interesting mechanism for catching prey. I find the fact that the triggers inside the jaws of the trap must be activated twice, before the jaws close, so the plant doesn't waste enerjy catching nothing. It's unfortunate to see their current threatened conservation status. I've found these plants interesting even before I'd looked into how they function as a plant. Something about carnivorous plants just captivates me, i suppose.
As for the Monotropa uniflora, It's a visually striking plant. I'm intrigued by it's non-photosynthesizing status, and Toxicity to humans.
The Mycena chlorophos' Bioluminecent quality is certianly interesting. Bioluminecince as a whole is rather visually pleasing. I don't think i have a favourite fungus, as they each serve an individual purpose, so it would be difficult to compare them.

A faint sound was coming from Egon's home workshop; amongst the clanking produced by his work there was a noticable hum that almost sounded like... Music?
As (reader) approached it became more clear, an up-beat tune accompanied by the humming and occasional low effort singing of an old man focused on his task.
His attention was pulled from the busted trap in his hands when he heard them enter, eliciting a weak smile from him as he reached to turn the radio off.
"Hello. There's an extra stool there, if you can find it under those papers."
