Happy Ghostbusters Day! The original movie released 37 years ago today. Here’s a repost of a piece I did in March 2019 as a submission for a Ghostbusters art book (which released in 2020). Devastatingly, it was rejected. I drew it entirely freehand using graphite, colored pencil and marker (and black pastel for the background). Regarding its rejection, the publisher thinks it was the use of the Real Ghostbusters cartoon characters, however, when I started the drawing, they reassured me those would be okay to use. So apparently the focus of the book shifted to just the original movie only🤷🏻‍♂️. Needless to say, I was again disappointed (and, if I’m honest, kinda heartbroken. This is still my all-time favorite movie.) I shared this on GB day 2020 and thought I might share it once again. If I could’ve attended the Ghostbusters Fan Fest, I would've taken the opportunity to tell William Atherton just how great he is. 

How my circle of friends in the Ghostbusters community just adore him; How they encouraged me to see more of his filmography and the fun convos we had  about them; Hell, I wouldn’t have made so many of friends I have in this community if I didn't decide to draw him a while back; not to mention just how loved Walter Peck as a character is now - despite the shit both he and the character got upon the film’s initial release. 

Atherton deserves more praise! 💝
