Ghostrick Jiangshi

This card is one of my all time favorite Ghostrick cards, and it was my introduction to the concept of a jiangshi. I really don't think you can get a more "accurate" jiangshi depiction than this; you've got the Qing dynasty bureaucrat uniform, the sealing spell talisman attached to the forehead, the stiff, arms outstretched pose, the stark white skin, and even the feet seem to show off the hopping motion these guys move with. They really nailed making an undead corpse look cute, which is not something I ever considered before just now. But I sure did say it. Anyway, I really like the color choice they went with here; it perfectly complements the background that all Ghostrick cards have without the monster blending into the background itself.

“Cannot be Normal Summoned, unless you control a ‘Ghostrick’ monster. Once per turn: You can change this card to face-down Defense Position. When this card is flipped face-up: You can add from your Deck to your hand 1 ‘Ghostrick’ monster whose Level is less than or equal to the number of ‘Ghostrick’ monsters you control. You can only use this effect of ‘Ghostrick Jiangshi’ once per turn.”
