It was more straightforward than that. Though there were benefits, Nefer could see how painfully straightforward Aether’s philosophy was. Yet as she looked at the boy giving an earnest expression, she could sense multiple figures right behind him; all of them shrewd in their own right. Was this what he meant by experience? To dabble in so many foreign affairs and still play such a fair game, it was crazy in its own right. A risk more dangerous than being like her or Dori.

She may be a balanced scale, but even Nefer understands that from a certain perspective… she’s a weight on a very silly and energetic set of scales for better or worse.
