Hi! Do you take Genshin Impact Alice x reader requests?
Maybe one where the reader meets Alice for the first time, and her having to deal with Alice during their early encounters.
the struggles of a woman in love
alice x reader (unfortunately angsty)
cw: heavy homesickness, alice is such a good wife and she tries her best to help reader settle into teyvat
a/n: oh sweet lovely alice, how i love you. also sorry this got a bit angsty, i just started typing and it got away from me TT.
Exploring the cosmos with your wife was inexplicably disastrous, it took years for Alice to get you to settle down and guard the borders of Teyvat instead of being squashed by asteroids and intergalactic forces. It was no surprise to any of the Hexenzirkel witches when you’d gaze upon the night sky on Moon Prayer Night and sigh wistfully. Nicole had even taken it upon herself to accompany you to the highest peak in Nod Krai just to stare at the true moon and go numb for a while.
Alice knew that deep down you craved the comfort of the abyss called space, that you chased the feeling of exploring the stars and learning new languages. You once told her in confidence that your heart remained with the planet that made you, that you always looked up into the skies hoping to see the very planet that you had once called home.
Which is why it killed her inside to see you staring into the scryglass with something like abandoned hope. You looked into the hydromancy powers that Barbeloth was using like they were something that’d tether you to the very place you’d left. Something had begun to fracture in Alice’s chest as she watched you retreat further into the hole in your heart.
What had started innocent retreats into the self began to tumble into places of darkness that Alice and Klee could barely get you out of. Such moments like the one you were currently experiencing, the wind blowing on your face and dancing in your hair. The breeze feeling like home, tasting like the freedom of swaying grasses and chirping birds.
There was a heaviness that sat upon your chest, pressing in like a stone and never giving you the chance to breathe. Alice noticed it long before your daughter had, her hands animatedly pointing towards a lake to let your daughter go blast fishing in beautiful scenic waters.
You watched passively as the light reflected on the aquamarine surface, the color making your throat clench for a place long since gone, “How long has it been?” It’s the first thing you’ve said all day, scratchy and harsh coming out of your gravely, broken throat.
Alice’s hand comes to rub at your back soothingly, and you want to let her touch you. You want to reciprocate all the affection that your wife has given you when you are unable to feel anything beyond the concaving feeling in your stomach. But, you can’t. Anything beyond a tired smile and dull eyes is exhausting these days. You begin to think that Klee has caught on and you hold on to the hope that this is just another episode and that you’ll need to retire into the woods for a while to… feel normal again.
Through your haze of memories you feel a soft kiss pressed to your temple, comforting in the very way that Alice is. “I’m here for you, to whatever end.” Something in you cracks, hot tears streaming down your face as you turn into her open arms. Heavy, heart wrenching sobs tumble from your lips, it’s so pathetic that you’re longing for a place you barely remember.
It’s so pathetic that it borders on ridiculous how you crumble at the memories of your childhood.
“Let it out, my love. It’s never good to keep your emotions hidden inside, we both know that.” You nod into her, barely perceptible beyond the tremor that rakes itself down your spine. Alice shushes you, petting your back and whispering sweet nothings into the air.
“I don’t even know why I’m feeling like this— I… I haven’t thought of,” A deep inhale and exhale as you choke out the very words that are coming to the surface, “I haven’t thought of my home in over 200 years, Alice.” Your wife gives you a soft smile that offers no hint of malice or contempt for your lack of stability at the moment.
“Sorrow has no end, it just gets easier to deal with. It may come back around once in a while, but its visits become fewer and fewer the longer you learn that it has happened. All things shall come to pass, don’t worry about your ‘weakness’,” She makes quotation marks with her fingers at the word ‘weakness’. “I married you because of the person you are, the strong and capable person that knows when to let others help. So let me help you.”
