This year me and J are protecting one day a week to create things, and we're holding each other to the promise of creativity.

Spent my first creative day at the Giacometti and Mona Hatoum exhibition at the Barbican – I'd wanted to go for ages but had put it off. It was a small exhibition but really brilliant, a perfect morsel to start the year with. Especially loved the glass works which felt somatic, held intense movement, yet also completely static. Sat in the library after and finished some drawings then met J fresh out for the recording studio for a cinema date at the Garden.

Buttons, Beads and Bobbins

Yesterday I decided to get some of my favourite things out and lay them out to see what I would create.

I love rummaging through my old buttons ☺️ I have a pillow case full 😂 I also have a huge collection of wonderful vintage cottons 🧵

NEW DESIGN 😁😁

So I had a fantastic day yesterday just happily painting away and creating. I designed this little cute fruit bat. I haven't painted a fruit bat in a long time so I was super happy to be able to create this little guy. 😁

Writing/Creative Space

I have the day to myself 😊 and the desire to do some writing and maybe some other creative stuff 🎉 Set up my makeshift writing/creative spot (as I don’t have an office or room fro a permanent spot) and got curious as to what everyone else’s was like 💭🤔

Here’s mine for today:

1st 2 pics are my laptop ( featuring WIP I’ve chosen to work on) on my portable tray which is placed on a chair (I will most likely move the tray with computer onto my lap at some point)

Under the chair: Notebook and drink. Plus DVDs, adult colouring book and a book for breaks.
