Ty Lee and Aang.
Look at them, their vibe just fit with each other.
OKAY. I’m already crying on the inside thanks to the AN about ominous music for what’s to come, but I am just LOVING Draco and Hermione right now in BL. It’s so fun to get to see them be young and in love and get time to just be carefree, even if it’s very temporary. The way you write their interactions and flirting and all things in between is so wonderful and just makes me giddy.
I JUST WANT THEM TO GET TO ENJOY EACH OTHER AND BE HAPPY AND IN LOVE FOREVER IN THE ITALIAN COUNTRYSIDE.
But truly. I am loving BL and can’t wait to see what happens next (although I imagine some heartbreak is coming).
Thank you so much! 😭🥰 I really, really enjoy writing two ‘stages’, if you will, of a romance story. Number one is the build up -- after everyone realizes they might like each other but are still being idiots, or can’t believe the other person likes them, or in some cases are trying to fight the feeling for whatever reason. That dance and that tension is where I LIVE as a writer (and reader) and I will never get tired of it.
Number two is the blissful stage, where they are happy and in love and get to have delicious (sometimes smutty!) interactions and conversations that are the payoff for all that buildup. Nothing depresses me more when a story just goes flat after the big ‘getting together’ moment. But it’s difficult as a writer to sustain interest and keep it exciting after that, which is why I think I enjoy it -- it’s a very satisfying challenge to execute it well.
And that feeling of giddiness you describe?? That is *exactly* what I am going for when I write these scenes. I want you to feel light and fizzy and elated when you read them -- walk away with a smile on your face and a flutter in your heart.
SO thank you very much for sending this ask! It made me very happy. And yes, our lovebirds do have a lot of hardship coming their way, but luckily we have all these soft, happy moments in the sun to return to on dark days... 🙃
On March 28th, come explore the fuzzy and funky world of lichens in Portland, OR. Portland, we’ve really taken a lichen to you. That’s why we’re coming to the World Forestry Center for a day full of those fuzzy growths on trees, roofs and gravestones: lichens! Join Science Friday and the World Forestry Center as we highlight these special symbiotic organisms. Meet experts in the forests, see select specimens from near and far, and maybe even discover your favorite lichen that you didn’t know existed. This event will feature an on-stage presentation and interactive stations. Come early to stop by all the tables! Meet the Experts Sarah Jovan is a Research Ecologist with the U.S. Forest Service in Portland, Oregon. She uses bioindicator data in collaboration with air quality managers, regulators, land managers, and local universities to inform policy, track emissions sources, and establish management guidelines. Hannah Prather is a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the Ramirez Lab at Reed College. She received her PhD from Portland State University, researching the human impacts on biodiversity and ecology in the urban communities of lichen and moss (they’re important too!). Ed Jahn is the Executive Editor for Science and Environment as well as the Executive Producer of OPB’s outdoor program, "Oregon Field Guide." He is a fellow with the Institutes for Journalism and Natural Resources and an advocate and teacher of better science communication. Interactive Station Hosts The Museum of Natural History at Portland State University Northwest Lichenologists Hoyt Arboretum Maysa Miller from Tillamook Estuaries Partnership Included with your event ticket is free admission to the World Forestry Center Discovery Museum from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. the day of the event. Event attendees will have the opportunity to sign up for a post-event nature walk through the Hoyt Arboretum with one of their knowledgeable volunteers. Tours run about 90 minutes and explore a variety of themes. This event is a co-production between Science Friday and World Forestry Center, presented in partnership with OPB and Science Talk. We are a part of Science Week 2020! World Forestry Center’s Miller Hall is ADA accessible. Please inquire for any special assistance needs.
Look what is coming to my neighborhood! I am giddy with anticipation.
Lichen on!
First Attraction Feeling
That feeling of flying or weightlessness because you meet someone new you are attracted too. There is just this energy that comes off it that can last you for a few hours to a few days. Even though you may never see them again, though you may want to, just the energy you get from meeting them gets your whole body floating.
It's such a magical feeling, when you start to feel a spark of hope happiness and giddiness in your heart after a long period of time without hope for love
-Countdown Intensifies-
19 days until I get to marry the man of my dreams. Time has flown by jarringly fast, but wedding planning and coordinating everything has been an absolute blast! So grateful for my bridesmaids and my friends for their help and support and ears in all of this.
