Listen, you're just going to have to accept that this is my blog and I will be posting anything I see fit too. Accept my cringe! I know I have at this point. https://ko-fi.com/kelseyhowell
Welcome to my art/hobby/whatever blog! My name is Kelsey - aka CrownedInMarigolds - and I've been here since 2012. Yes, I am an ancient being.
My favorite subjects to draw are primarily OC things, and the sandboxes I usually play in are Vampire the Masquerade/World of Darkness, but I really love just about anything. While I have things I consistently like and reblog, do not doubt that I will just randomly bring up things out of left field. This is my mish-mash cringe blog, just be warned when following me! I'd also like to shout out my beloved muse @thesixthplaneteer, my true love and baby-daddy. He's a very talented writer, and a lot of my personal work is intrinsically tied up with his. Most OCs or storylines you may see from me here involve his own OCs in some way. Here is his AO3 account if you're interested in reading!
If you're interested in supporting me through commissions or just a nice lil tip for doing what I do, here is my Ko-Fi! Zero pressure of course.
My Regular Bluesky.
My NSFW Art Bluesky.
My Art Instagram.
My VGen.
My regular art commissions are: currently paused for summer break!
If you're interested in art commissions, please check out my art tag to get a feel if you'd like my style! Here is my art commission information post for more detailed info. I am open to art trades BUT I may be busy with commissions so please just ask! During my break, feel free to ask to be on my waitlist and I will get right back to you!
Tag Guide and OC Directory beneath the cut, if you're interested! Thank you for checking out my blog!
Tag Guide: In case you want to block anything or find certain info. I for the most part tag generously to make sure I can find everything!
I self reblog often, so it is under the self reblog! tag.
I often reblog others' commission post under commission boost
I post personal little dribbles about my life under personal.
My OCs:
Noa Vincenza Hidalgo-Giovanni - one of my main OCs. She is my Giovanni/Hecata VTM character, though I have and will continue to draw her across multiple universes, fandoms, etc! So don't be surprised if she's a vampire in one picture and a Vulcan in the next! Noa's Pinterest Board!
Khloe Osborne - my current VTM/V5 PC in my husband's chronicle, The Poisoned Peach, ATL by Night! She is a Ventrue Thinblood, in a coterie with three other Thinbloods as they try to stop the Atlanta Camarilla from enslaving the local Thinblood populace!
Parvati - another favorite character of mine. She was originally my first real Pathfinder PC that I played for a long time. I also started writing a book about her titled Crowned in Marigolds, sort of based on the Pathfinder world she had been placed in. Da da daaa, the namesake of my Tumblr! She is now my Vampire the Masquerade Ravnos Elder who is in the Ministry/Followers of Set! Parvati's Pinterest Board!
thesixthplaneteer's OCs: (the OCs I treat like mine but are actually not!)
Dr. Nythanel Loken PhD- "Elder Thinblood," known later in his unlife as the Thriceborn! He's the absolute favorite and Noa's best friend and for-tax-reasons husband. Cute and full of the audacity!
Ralph - Khloe's boyfriend and fellow coterie-mate, a Nosferatu Thinblood who was given the Nos Bane (arguably it's pretty light!). Former Spec-Ops, all love and all trouble. He's probably one of my most drawn boys... He and Khlo are a part of the Stakebait Coterie - which also include Christian and Kyle! The four best friends that anyone can have, all Thinbloods, all taking on ATL's Camarilla!
Harrakhty Hamdi - Leader of our main Followers of Set group. Gold and covered in artwork, he is his own walking sarcophagus.
Not to be a bitch but sometimes people engage with fiction in the most boring way possible, and nowhere is this clearer than in videogames. Like what you mean you hate a character just because they were kind of abrasive when speaking to the player character? "They were mean to me" and it didn't occur to you to wonder why? Like, what might their attitude toward you reveal about the world? About the social dynamics within it? About their own perspectives and backgrounds and personalities? Does it even occur you to ask? Would you only have liked them if they bowed to your presence and talked about how great you are? Like I'm sorry but you're so boring. How boring fiction would be if it cathered to you
"After the excitement of feeding time, the lion cubs settle down with round, full bellies and sleepy eyes. The playful wrestling and curious explorations can wait for another day. For now, they rest side by side, content and secure beneath the watchful gaze of the pride."

Artfight Revenge against @underpaid-paragon!! They drew such gorgeous art of Khloe and I was so excited to attack back on Purdy! I hope I've drawn her justice!

Gonna start writing thank you for giffing in tags with cool gifs because I know it's work and it's awesome to have it on my blog but I hope giffing isn't a swear somewhere. š
Experimented a bit with a new way of detailing the tiles. Kinda like it? This particular piece took a hell of a lot of work. Iād love if you shared the vibes itās giving off, for research purposes š
Are you an artist, and do you think it's rude when someone comments something along the line of "I don't like this ship, but this is a beautiful art" OR "I don't ship this, but this is a beautiful art" under a fan art that ships two fictional characters together?
I'm an artist. Yes, both of these comments are rude
I'm an artist. The first one is rude. The second one is not rude*
I'm an artist. No, neither of these comments are rude
I'm not an artist. Yes, both of these comments are rude
I'm not an artist. The first one is rude. The second one is not rude*
I'm not an artist. No, neither of these comments are rude
Remaining time: 6 days 15 hours
*The first one = I don't like this ship, but this is a beautiful art
The second one = I don't ship this, but this is a beautiful art

I think for a lot of people āI am completely helpless and powerlessā and āI am completely powerful and in controlā are both basically comforting fantasies because most of us live our lives in an in between place where we have enough agency to be responsible for our actions but not enough agency to have true control over our lives and the tension between power and powerlessness in the day to day is psychologically wearing and exhausting
