Blends by rvltn909, completely inspired by diemerdarling on ig. Because all baristas that are Wolfstar fans need a copy of this. Unfortunately, UPS lost this one as well, so there’s one barista friend without this now 😭
If I remake this one, I will do in powder blue to match the charm or at least somehow incorporate the blue better. I could have sworn my charm was pink, but no 🤦🏻♀️ oh and I will do a better job centering the title as well. I did really love the matching book cloth end bands though, and look how well that spine lays. Sigh. This is a long one, and I just can’t think about redoing it today. Maybe in a few days but right now I’m just pouting about it and whining.
Today’s score: 2 binds lost by UPS, 1 bind delivered by USPS.
Gifts have been gifted.
Christmas Lights (I forgot to take a picture of the spine and back, so just imagine it’s adorably cute) by badhairred. Bound WITHOUT permission because I bound it for them 🤭 (Note - always get permission unless binding as a surprise for the author)
Book cloth - Amazon black with sparkles. It looks like snow falling
End pages - from a page pad book at Michael’s
Vinyl - htvront
Also orange handknit socks. In July, @momentaryeclipse helped me gauge these so that we knew they would fit, and I carried on knitting them to finish for @badhairred. These would not have turned out so lovely without his help.
A hand knit sock has about 20k stitches, so to make a pair of socks for someone, you really have to love them at least 40k times. I always tease when I gift them that I clearly love them the most because who else has done something for them 40k times?!? Here’s hoping badhairred loves them and wears them till they are holey and well loved.
Delivery day! 📦 So I can finally post this belated Christmas bind.
All the Young Dudes - I really wanted a retro vibe with this one, and I’m happy with how it turned out.
Typeset - leticiamareeart (ig) - this is their self illustrated typeset
Book Cloth - Verona from Hollanders
End Papers Whaline Retro Floral (Amazon)
Vinyl - htvront
Paper - Church
A while back I saw elph13’s ig post here, and proceeded to tell everyone I know about it. I’m fascinated to learn about folks writing process, and this was amazing. This author (of The Heir to the House of Prince - a masterpiece) is handwriting in these antique book journals?!?
I knew getting one of these journals could heal me, so I I kept trying to buy one, but either it’s me or they are just frequently out of stock.
I know you are thinking, hey, don’t you bind books? Yea, yea, but I couldn’t wrap my head around how to actually take an antique book and do this. I put a pin in it and figured maybe someday.
My birthday rolls around, and I open a box to find this. @stopallsnowblind had taken my absolute favorite book and made me the exact journal I wanted. I teared up flipping through it, it was just so incredibly thoughtful and perfect.
So, bottom line, there’s no stopping me now. I have the best friends.
My friend received their Art Heist, Baby! bind in the mail today. This was a fun one to make. I used real printable canvas for the cover and printable htv for the back. I'm so excited that they received it (a win for USPS!).
(bind was made with author's permission)
