Violet Melody Ann
Written for @flashfictionfridayofficial #267 Prompt: Gifted Violet. For my youngest granddaughter.
She is stubborn, hard headed, knows what she wants. Two going on twelve, that is our Violet. A Mama's girl who tolerates everyone else, including her daddy, it took her two years to warm up to me.
Now she gifts me with her megawatt smiles. Smart, like her daddy, sister, grandma, she sings the alphabet to herself in the car. A lover of music, from the country her mama prefers to the rap and heavy metal her daddy does, she dances to all, keeping a good rhythm.
Quiet, she only talks when she really has something to say. She will have strawberry blonde hair, we think, when it grows in. Her hair is as stubborn as she is.
May she keep that hard headedness. May it serve her well as she changes the world.
