“But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.”

The Holy Spirit is a most wonderful person (yes, He is a person). You can talk to God, He is close. You can pray in Jesus' name and He also prays for you (Heb 7:25, 1Jn 2:1). But The Holy Spirit, (who also prays for you, Rom 8:26-27) is the third person in the Holy Trinity and He is someone a little different. He lives inside you all the time. He helps you, He will bring things to your memory when you need them. He gives you spiritual gifts: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord. (Isa 11:1-2) And the fruits of the spirit come from The Him: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. (Gal 5:22)

He is The Creator Spirit. He existed before the creation of the universe and through his power everything was made in Jesus Christ, by God the Father. He descended on Jesus like a dove and stayed with Him as His Helper. (Luke 3:22). When Jesus ascended to Heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to be with us forever.

The Holy Spirit has enormous power, but more than that He is the Friend who always comforts and helps you. He gives you spiritual strength anytime you need it. The Holy Spirit is awesome. If you don't know Him yet, you only have to ask. Amen! 🙌

Are Spiritual Gifts and Abilities A Blessing or A Curse? — It Depends

The gifts of our spiritual nature are undoubtedly fascinating. But are spiritual gifts and abilities a blessing or curse? Several factors determine if these gifts are desirable or undesirable. Some see these gifts as "a divine power," while others see them as natural aspects of human nature. Generally speaking, the value of these gifts falls into two primary groups. One group defines them as tools or processes for consciousness development. The second group defines them as philosophical virtues and theological links. Depending on the culture, there are many different ways to define spiritual gifts and abilities. Come and see which of these gifts resonates with you. "It depends" is the best answer to most legal questions. And it is often the best answer for many things on the subject of spirituality. Whether spiritual gifts are a blessing or a curse depends. When you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you don't just get forgiveness of sins and eternal life (as if that wasn't enough in itself!) You also get the fruits of the Spirit: “Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” (Gal 5:22‭-‬23) AND you receive the gifts of The Holy Spirit: The Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord.” (Isaiah 11:2) That is one awesome gift package! “O Lord, if You heal me, I will be truly healed; if You save me, I will be truly saved. My praises are for You alone!” Jeremiah 17:14 (NLT)

Jesus didn't just heal the ten lepers, the lame man, the blind man etc, He healed all the sick around Him. (Matthew 8:16, 12:15, 14:14,19:2, 21:14; Mark 3:10, 5:17, 6:19, 6:56; Luke 4:40, 6:19, 9:11!) There aren't any verses in the Bible where Jesus turned the sick away, or told them to come back another day, because He'd used enough healing power and He needed a break. He didn't say to anyone that God's will for them was they stay sick or He'd only heal some sicknesses, but not others. Jesus didn't say that if we have a sickness it's because we need to learn a lesson, or we're being punished for our sins. No, Jesus healed them all and it didn't stop when Jesus ascended to Heaven, “I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in Me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.” John 14:12 (NLT) Miracles and healing continue now as they did then - through believers, by The Holy Spirit. Not everyone is healed by prayer and we'll never know why, but it isn't because sickness and troubles are Gods will for us; they aren't, but we live in a fallen world. All I know is that when Jesus heals you, you're really healed and when Jesus saves you, you're really saved!

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for all the gifts of the Holy Spirit, one of which is healing. May there be MANY miracles and healings in Jesus' mighty name, right up until He returns! Praise Your name, Lord. Amen! 🙏 🙌
