just finished replaying Mass Effect Andromeda on a quest to play and uninstall a bunch of games to make room for DA4. And uh. Andromeda is Good Actually. People were way too harsh on this game. it is Good. you're telling me you played a game where you could do a gay romance AND have a surrogate child with him and his best friend, and you're calling that BAD?!?!

i don't think i know of ANY other game that depicts such a non-normative family structure. and it's not the only one in that game! the angara are polyamorous as fuck!

bugs are an understandable thing to be disappointed about, but 1) it's impossible to release a bug-free game at launch under AAA crunch and 2) most of them are patched now

y'all were just still mad about ME3 having a bad ending. and yeah, the last 10 minutes of ME3 are bad. but people were still mad about that 5 years later to the point where they weren't giving the next game a chance to shine. and now there will never be a sequel and I'll never know what happens with Gil and Jill and Ryder and their baby

Lexi pouring over medical files. But also taking time to sit back. And making sure Scott is eating his vegetables. Her son basically. Even if she won't admit how much she mothers him

Liam listening to music with Cora, as the two reminisce about life back home. Privately he wonders if he made the wrong choice. Privately she wonders if she'll ever feel like she made the right choice

Gil and SAM playing poker. SAM losing despite the AI advantages.

Kallo and Suvi playing trivia games in the cockpit while the others rest

Scott waking up to see his girlfriend laying peacefully on him. Sleeping contentedly. And deciding he wouldn't want it any other way.

After all. He's only human

Gil: So Pathfinder you're from a family that's mostly military.

Scott: That's right. My granddad was a colonel in the USNA army. My dad joining the Alliance pretty much segregated us from the family.

Gil: I guess you Ryders are always the odd man out. God I can't believe people still thought the old governments mattered.

Scott: I know right. Any political clout they had ended after Shanxi. Not that they had much left.

Gil: My family was always for the Alliance, I had a cousin who joined around the same time as I did my training. Good old Kenny.

Scott: Oh yeah?

Gil: He was a good guy. He pissed off a lot of the family too though. He was a big supporter of Commander Shepard. Ended up leaving the Alliance to join Cerberus.

Scott: Cerberus?

Gil: Yeah. Don't know much about them. Some sort of supremacist group. Kenny wasn't a human first kind of guy but he wanted to help Shepard. Ended up serving on the Normandy SR-2. Family was mad as hell at him but I was real proud.

Scott: Commander Shepard..thinking back to the logs Alex had left behind

Gil: First human Spectre. If that means anything out here.
