But, soon enough, some rumors begin to spread in the village, mostly due to the vicar Reverend Millward, her daughter Eliza, who loves Gilbert, and the beautiful and elegant Jane Wilson. The previous owner of the Hall, Mr. Lawrence is also mysterious, evokes curiosity. I must say the novel is going rather slow, but I love the feeling of mystery of what will be revealed further in the novel. ~ «I wished to tell the truth, for truth always conveys its own moral to those who are able to receive it.
