Tw: abuse, transphobia

This is kind of heavy but I played a half-drow storm sorceress who was coping with the death of her father. I’d lost my relationship with my mother a few years before (she’s alive, she just became extremely transphobic and abusive and I had to cut ties with her). Didn’t realise at the time how much I still had to work through with that and playing that character was hard but very cathartic. Now I’m on the other side I sometimes listen to the playlist I made for her and go like “phew, we were really Going Through It, huh”.

Also my characters are all queer and of a variety of genders - I’m a bi/ace nonbinary trans man and it’s super freeing to explore different facets of my identity in a way that’s totally safe and welcome (my table is the best).

Wow that is deep. Thanks for sharing that, and I’m glad your table allowed you the space to work through that.

Full disclosure Asy, I wasn't totally sold on Godspeed at the start, but I read the last chapter on my lunch break today and started crying at my desk. It was beautiful, I really fell for the characters and the emotions at the end were perfect. Also I'm so glad you're enjoying writing again! <3

Hey! Not a question, just thought I’d let people know that the Porterbrook clinic just sent me a letter saying they have “very limited medical resources” at the moment. (I was due a medical review but it’s been indefinitely postponed). Looks like they’re understaffed. Apparently they’re working on it, and still giving appointments in the meantime, just not medical ones.

Thanks for sharing this information for any other followers who might find it useful!

Episodes I can watch again and again that are like comfort food:

1) The one right after they get Jester, Fjord and Yasha back from the Iron Shepherds. Even though it’s sad (their reactions to Molly’s death etc) it was so good to finally have Laura and Travis back after so long

2) Likewise, the one right after the dragon fight in the happy fun ball. Everyone gets to unwind after all that stress, Jester visits some bees, Yasha and Nott “did you have funerals for all of us?”, so many good RP moments

3) Home Is Where the Heart Is. Something about showing up to confront your abuser with all your friends there to back you up and/or steal from him and/or threaten him. Plus right after that we get the Jester Cupcake episode which is also a highlight.

For campaign 1 it’s the beach episode, or any episode where they’re literally just chillin. Soft RP is my favourite, especially after a big fight or dramatic arc, where they can just decompress and check in with each other and maybe smooch a lil.

The soft episodes are so nice. Everyone can relax for a minute. The RP is always incredible. It makes sense that all your favorites are “after the storm” moments. Thanks for sharing!

Also! The wedding episode and Search for Grog are pretty much perfect one shots.

Dalen’s Closet is definitely on my top faves. And they way that Grog got those Nat 20’s at the end of Search for Grog! Incredible.
